  1. Non-uniform enforcement of the forum rules likely prompted this. Very magnanimous of fasteddie to resign and join us as an equal member.
  2. I’m about to pull the trigger on a CVA. Would a nitride finish actually protect against this?
  3. I’ve said this before: scientific articles shouldn’t be thrown around like memes on social media. There’s background and context that is important to understand and that cannot be served solely by reading a title or abstract. Think about what this meta review is exploring. A surgeon wearing a mask to protect a medicated patient from direct spittle (or themselves from splash of blood/bodily fluids) is altogether different than reducing airborne transmission of a highly infections virus that we know travels via aerosols that we emit. I have other technical issues with the methodology of the article you shared but I’ll spare you. The point is that the review article you shared does not present evidence for masks being ineffective at reducing Covid transmission.
  4. This isn’t magic - the numbers tell the story. Infection rates and subsequent deaths increased during periods where folks stopped socially distancing (ie. holiday travel, parties, reopening of bars/restaurants). Uptick in cases did not occur because of misguided CDC recommendations. It happened due to a lack of compliance. Is that a typo? Are you still claiming masks are ineffective?
  5. Many more would have been protected if jackasses like you didn’t spend the first half of the pandemic claiming that it was a hoax or exercising their “god-given right” to not wear masks.
  6. My trip overlaps with their turkey season actually. Unfortunately I won’t be there long enough to go after them and no turkey rights where I’ll be hunting.
  7. Wtf is wrong with you? There are people on this forum who have lost loved ones to Covid. Stop being such a f@cking clown.
  8. I was struck by a headline on Fox the other day. I even took a screen shot of it (see below). If you read the article you’d find absolutely no reference of any Biden struggles with memory lapses. In fact, the overall thesis was that most Vice Presidents have played active roles in holding calls with foreign leaders, both in Dem and Rep administrations. Whoever wrote this headline was engaging in overt journalistic malpractice. So yeah, I see the bias...
  9. Final update to my 2021 out-of-state hunting trip list: 1- Alabama hog 2- Hawaii axis 3- Quebec moose
  10. Lol! Miss the Trump admin scandals, don’t you? Remember that one time Obama wore a tan suit?
  11. Very spy thriller. I suspect a man with your skillset is never truly out of the biz.
  12. What? That’s exactly what you said. Literally, almost word for word. You consider crossbow hunters to be “lazy” and you don’t want the added competition during archery season. It’s ok to stand by your position but why flip out when someone challenges it? That said, I agree with you. I’m in favor of crossbows for the old or disabled during archery season.
  13. It’s a slippery slope. You let your dog play with other dogs and then one day you find yourself adding almond milk to your coffee. Next thing you know you start to believe that healthcare should be a right and that undocumented immigrants should be treated with dignity. Slippery slope, tread lightly.
  14. Ah... I was hoping to hear about that one time you crossed paths with leftField in the 80s... perhaps in Thailand?
  15. Thanks. That’s kinda my problem with the city facilities. They operate more like dog spas with socialization time. I personally see no value in letting your dog play with other dogs if you properly socialized them during the relevant developmental window. In fact it can actually be a hindrance.
  16. Here’s a fun take: https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/where-do-we-go-from-here/
  17. No wonder you’re on edge. You think 1 in 100 people are trans... It’s not actually a disruption. You just don’t like it because you find it icky. We shouldn’t legislate on icky.
  18. This is one of those examples of how an issue that affects a very small amount of people (but affects them deeply) takes on a larger life and becomes a central battle line in identity politics. These folks live with a heightened risk of physical violence. A trans woman using the men's bathroom because they have male genitalia has a much shorter life expectancy due to the fact that small insecure men like to pummel trans people to death. There are many layers to this issue, some very complicated. My approach is to lead with empathy. Children face a lot of challenges too. Sharing a bathroom with a trans person, likely outside of their awareness, is not one of them.
  19. That's my concern. But maybe the right facility can do a better job than a kid off Rover?
