I get it, you like the line drawn with you just a little on the good side of it. Most people do in all aspects of life. A lot on the board do have a tradition of compound bows as a lot of the traditional guys have died out or got to old and not many new archery hunters are taking up the added challenge of traditional. As they can just use a easier compound Bow. Again a theme that you would prefer stopped with you just a little on the good side of the line. A lot has changed since Fred Bear and the modern culture is a whole lot different than it was then in my opinion . Take a look at his old set up compared to what you are using currently, they are far apart. But honest question would you be willing to give up 2 weeks of compound season for the traditional bow hunters as that is what you expect from the crossbow hunters?Again I am happy with the seasons the way it is just willing to give my opinion on what I see as hypocritical. Note as a fellow Irish European you should know crossbow hunting started in the 12th century way before the Fred Bear renaissance you mention.

I don’t care as I can and do hunt OH and PA with my crossbow all archery season. And have the best 2 weeks in WNY already. I just find it funny the compound guys that set the limit at there maximum ability. Then state it’s about tradition but don’t put in the work in to hunt traditional bow. At the same time condemning crossbows as crossbow hunters are destroying the tradition because they are not willing to put the work into being a “bow” hunter. Again if difficulty is going to be the bar to set season length to. We should push back compound 2 weeks and let the traditional guys have some time to themselves in the woods also. This is also just my opinion to the conversation that was had last year, this year and probably again next year.

Do you mean to stop progression of the sport or stop whining when proposed law changes that would add more hunter to the archery season.

Is that not what compounds did to traditional bows when included. Why is this where the line needs drawn? Why was the line not drawn at cams?

Crossbows are not guns nor compound bows and Compound bows are not traditional bows. If difficulty level is going to set the seasons time length per weapon. Then the only thing that makes sense is the DEC should push back compound bow season some and give the traditional guys a couple weeks alone in the woods.

If we quit paying for their laziness though social programs from our tax dollars do you think it would equal out?
