I'm not worried about target practice, I'm worried about target panick. Im still the 20-100 arrows a day @ least for the summer 5 days a week I would say. This month I shoot a little less because of early goose and the time I spend scouting birds. but 1 arrow a day from the porch is my goal, and 2 to 3 days a week regular couple dozen.

Some guys did better then others....

Any feet down beat down this weekend? I'm still seeing mostly residents, still a little slow but learned alot and spent some time in some beautiful places.

I know how you feel..... Lost my dad when I was 20, every time I go in the woods I cant help but feel like he's right there with me. I keep his nicest bucks in my woodshop.

It definitely happens. My biggest target buck was hit by a car I few hours after I bumped him out of bed. Anything can happen

I have been fortunate to be part of a lease that is in a doe management focus zone for 10 years. We benefit from all the extra season and tags we can get our hands on. We hunt til end of January and can legally kill 2 antlerless deer a day for the entire season. We don't hunt much in bow or early gun unless its a kill day. Some nice bucks on the lease. Our heard potentially suffers if we don't kill 30 to 50 does a year; The buck to doe ratio is so skewed you never see a buck. We are at risk for disease. Population can become stunted and inbred. That being said.... you can have a billion tags for low deer density areas but that may not mean more deer are being killed.

Deer use different land at different times of the year. When crossbow opens the deer will be in totally different areas. Need many spots for all different phases of season. You need a rutt flat or a pinch point.... and actually you need 10 stands for every wind direction..... lol jk. (Not really jk). Healthy deer smoke coyote in speed and physically kick the crap out of them. They may move around the dogs but usually I catch them down wind of the yotes. Doing the same thing to them as they do to us.
