Actually, the issue at hand was an absent owner, no response to membership requests and questions etc..... You don't have a forum, abandon it, and expect glowing reviews. A couple of mods were left to police the ranks, while old BJ disappeared. People got fed up. Now they're bailing, and rightfully so. How many people are waiting on t shirts? Hahaha. Seeya.

Orbaker's!!! Lots of good memories there. Stopped there every year on our way to vacation. Killer food. Happy anniversary!

They are crazy around here this year (8N). Been getting multiples on me every time I go into the brush by my house. At my camp across town they're bad, too. The worst is at work. Yesterday we were in Honeyoe working, and between my coworker and I, we had 9 on us in less than an hour of work. They're mostly deer ticks. Work provides cutter which helps, and permethrin, but you can't realistically treat every set of work clothes you own. Have had several embedded in me this year, but found them quick. Is anyone else seeing a lot of them? How about on the deer that have been taken?

Sounds to me like you're on the right track. Not taking shots that are too far, or at bad angles is the sign of a good sportsman who respects the game. Nothing wrong with that. It can be frustrating, but imagine the feeling when you finally score. It'll happen for you.

Thanks TF. Just went and got mine.

Sold. Thank you escpen. Nice meeting you!

Ok. Just sent you another.

The rainbows and the majority of browns run to spawn. There are a few browns in the creek all year though, as well as very small rainbows that haven't gone to the lake yet. Once in awhile you will catch a brookie in there, but it's rare.

I got your message. Replied. Let me know if you didn't get it.

I really like my Orvis. It's not the mirage, but I don't think you can go wrong with Orvis. Good stuff.

Likewise, I know nothing about west branch. I'm sure it's great.

You are 100% wrong. Browns and lakers are stocked in Canandaigua lake. Rainbows have not been stocked in a very long time. Since the early 20th century. These are naturally spawning fish.

Best wishes on your surgery.

Mostly Canandaigua.

Those were some good days last winter and this spring. Not sure where you are, but let me know if you want to get out together sometime. If we ever get some higher water.

I guess you could use any broadhead, but heavier would be better I think. Crossbows like weight forward bolts. I find them more accurate in my Excalibur, and the heavier bolts are easier on your crossbow's limbs. I shoot 20" Black Eagle Executioners, with Excalibur Boltcutters. They are 150gr 3 blade fixed heads. I also put 3 brass washers under the broadhead that weigh 5gr each. So 165gr up front, plus my 326gr bolt, and I'm at 491gr. You can get a 6 pack of Boltcutters for around $60.

I think Kmartinson is right. There are some finger lakes tribs that are pretty hard to beat. Beautiful, and outstanding fishing.

I went to camp and shot it this afternoon. It didn't seem to like the 385gr much. The XTP shot fantastic over 90gr of 777. Bulls from 30 out to 85 (as far as I can target shoot there), and they were touching each other at that range. Not bad for open sights. I really like the rifle. Shoots well. Feels light and compact. Best part is that cleaning it was quick & simple compared to my Hawken. Thanks for the input guys.

Anyone seeing these Chinese Crossbows?
Skillet replied to Gobbler Chaser's topic in CrossBow Hunting
You also have an old school Excalibur. One of the rock solid ones. They are having tons of limb issues now with the new bows. It's no secret. -
Thanks for posting the video. That was a really poor performance from the great plains. In contrast, the mushroom from the XTP looked perfect. I'll try the XTP first. Will let you know how it goes.

$80 It costs $130 online, at the one place you can still get it. It's a damn good knife. I have another that I wear every day. Kind of small, but fits easily in your boot or on a belt, which is how I wear mine.
