  1. I find this very hard to believe... I would say there was a combination of other things that may have caused you to miss the deer. I shoot rage broadheads and they shoot the same as my field points. The problem I have with this is you claim that they shoot 2ft low! No matter what the practice tips don't shoot thta much different where you would be 2ft low. I mean I could understand maybe a couple inches but 2ft? Not possible... Just my opinion.
  2. Hence the name licking branch...
  3. Disrespect? Doesn't matter either way! SOme guys hang it by the kneck and some hang it by the hind legs. Hang it how you want!
  4. Show DEC the pic, put him down and maybe they will give you a tag?
  5. Apples if they are around for sure! Unfortunately around me there are\were NO apples this year. I find that the deer eat corn but like to move through undetected even more. I would hunt the apples now and the corn later. Good luck!
  6. The regulars come with the retention ring also now. I shot an 8pt with the regulars again this year and they did the Job. Deer ran 50 yds and died. My buddy is shooting the rage extremes now. He hit a doe right behind the shoulder (he claims) and didn't get a clean pass through. I am sticking with the regulars for now until I get some more feedback!
  7. Yeah I am going to have to agree. I enjoyed the read but as a bowhunter I think you have to be comfortable to ATLEAST 30 yds. To each to own but 30yds is a chipshot with the bows these days. Sounds like a new Poll question! How far are you comfortable taking a shot?
  8. Got into the stand an hour before light on Saturday morning. It was cool and a little breezy. At 7am I had a nice 6pt come behind me with a doe. He was about 50yds out in some thick stuff so there was no shot at him and I wouldn't have shot him anyways because i knew I had better deer on the property. At 7:30 a doe came in, she kept looking over her shoulder and ended up taking off. hmmmm... wonder why she did that I asked myself?? I found out about 2 minutes later when an 8 pointer shoowed himself at 45yds. Nice 8pt out to his ears so I slowly picked up my bow and got ready for the deer to come in under 40yds and present a broadside shot. As I was getting ready I noticed he kept looking over his shoulder. That question was answered about 30 seconds later also when the deer that I have been hunting steped out in front of him!!!! Nice 8pt that I have trailcam pics of and really wanted to shoot. I named him "BLADE" becasue of the left side of his rack. I put the rangefinder on him and he was at 37yds broadside. I drew back and let one fly! The deer ran to the middle of the field and just stood there. I thought to myself did I really just miss the deer that I have been dying to shoot? NOPE not when I saw the hole that the rage two blade put through him! Suddenly his legs got really wobbly and he could barely walk. He stumbled into the headrow and died. He wlked a total of about 40yds from start to finish. I was super excited and so happy that I shot this deer! Biggest buck with the bow for me!!! YES!!!
  9. Whats the price. Where are the lights?
  10. Don't care for either of them but no doubt in my mind that Romney one that debate!
  11. Ha! Now I think people are just trying to bust your stones. That deer doesn't go below 140 no way no how! I hope you shoot him to prove it. I can't say he will be over 150 but I know he isn't under 140! Good luck, that is a beautiful buck.
  12. Bucks look a little different in the middle of the summer compared to post rut when there knecks are huge and they are fattened up for th ewinter! That is a good mature buck, def shooter!
  13. I have no doubt in Rage broad heads, I used to shoot the 3 blade but now I shoot the 2's and love them. My question is about the new extremes with the larger cutting diameter and they recommend shooting a minimum of 55lbs with them. I shoot 63 and was wondering if people were experiencing problems with passthroughs because of the large diameter.
  14. Anyone kill a deer with the new Rage Extreme 2 blades? I was going to shoot them this year but I wanted to hear some feedback before I let one fly at a buck! Good or bad??
  15. Not sure what you are saying here? That buck could be shot because he has 3 on one side but a bunch of spikes and fours would make it because of the AR. What do you think the AR should be 4 on one side? Can't do it based on age obviously so what is the answer? I would prefer some type of antler restriction in my area rather than nothing like I currently have. NY in whole could have the same deer that Ohio and Illy have if you ask me. All they have that we don't is beans. The reason they have such rackers is because the have a SHOTGUN ONLY season for a week and they let the huters shoot does. In NY we have a month of high powered rifles and no doe permits being given out. LET THE HUNTERS SHOOT DOES and a SHORT SHOTGUN SEASON would lead to bigger deer. Anywyas it will never happen... Most hunters in NY care about the meat and not the rack so that is just how it is. Oh yeah and Biz-R my rule is that it has to be a six or better. If that buck is a trophy to you than put it down!!
  16. Did a search on the subject of this youth hunt and didn't come up with anything. What are your feelings??? Junior Hunter Mentoring Program Youth Firearms Deer Hunt 14-15 Year Old Junior Hunters can hunt Deer with a Firearm over the 3-day Columbus Day weekend Resident and non-resident Junior Hunting license holders may take 1 deer with a firearm during the youth deer hunt. 17. I have drainage all around the house so there is no need for a sump pump. House is 11 years old and been through some serious rain and I have never had a drop of water in the basement. Knock on wood!
  18. Who cares if he hits 160 he is a giant!
