  1. Another hunter dies in "accidental" discharge . . . http://www.battlecreekenquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2011311020009
  2. I can't imagine being up that high to hunt. Max for me is 15-17 feet.
  3. Lol! What movie was that in when it was seen floating in a pool?
  4. I would not eat it. Not worth getting sick. After the hurricane in August I had no power for 4 days. Had to dump a whole freezer full of meat.
  5. I did it without a problem. My draw length is 27.5". The space is 60". There is almost 3 feet of room to play with.
  6. Picked up a Comfort Zone Predator blind at dick's for $49.98. It's 5'x5 and 66" tall. Perfect for drawing a bow and plenty of room for 2 hunters. Also has shoot thru screens using fixed blades. Compared to the more expensive $99 Field and Stream magnum only difference is 1" higher inside and additional shoot thru windows. Other dimensions are the same.
  7. Welcome to the forum. A lot of us are in the same boat trying to juggle work, family and other obligations to get in some hunting time. Good luck this season.
  8. Just picked up the Comfort Zone Predator blind at Dick's for $39. It was on sale for $49.98 and I had a $10 coupon. It's 5'x5 square and 66" high inside dimensions. I was able to draw my bow without a problem. Accommodates up to 2 hunters. Compared to the field & stream magnum 2 man only difference is 1" in higher in the magnum and its $99. The rest of the dimensions are the same. Easy pop up and take down. The predator blind has shoot through screens for fixed blades only.
  9. Too funny. What the heck happened to that chicken?
  10. Just remember - he's got my name on him!
  11. Hey guys/gals, seems like another one of us died falling from a treestand. http://www.wave3.com...uthwest-indiana Interesting comment at the end - they are doing an autopsy to determine cause of death - ummm let me guess - blunt force trauma when his body hit the ground??? Be safe out there! Make sure you wear your safety harnesses. It just ain't worth dying for a deer I don't care how big a rack it has!
  12. I've found that if you keep it between 65-70 and there is traffic, they won't bother you. If you are the only car and you are pushing 70 they will stop you. BTW they also sit under the I84 overpass or just south of there.
  13. Nice! Private land is the best. Don't have to worry about others hunting near you that you don't know about. This weekend I saw nothing on Friday afternoon. Did a half day sit on Sat until 2 when it started snowing hard and I saw only a couple of does. Took a 35yd shot at one but undershot her and she spooked. Woke up Sun to head out but there was way too much snow to get through to my stand so I decided on coming back next weekend. Here are some pictures from my cam. I'm hoping for the top one on to fill the freezer and the bottom one if he shows during daylight hours to hang on my wall.
  14. Welcome to the forum Lori. Good luck this season!
  15. Nice pictures! This is one doe I got . . . looks like she was posing
  16. Oh good. I thought it was just me having the same problem. Level ground I'm dead on with my target. But once I get into the treestand I either shoot over or just under. I tell myself to calm down and pick your spot, bend at the waist but still no deer. Im going on three years too.
  17. Thanks WNY but doesn't help me in 4y. Good luck to those of you who apply.
  18. Welcome to the forum. We need a lot more young hunters like you to join the brotherhood.
