  1. The thing that is nice about the FMJs is that they are easier to find than other arrows with a metal detector . My youngest son shoots them .
  2. I would guess that there would be a difference in grains per inch . Because of their composition , I don't think it would affect the spine .
  3. I have no idea . PM burmjohn for the answer .
  4. DirtTime - Not poking fun at you . If the new person didn't make a name change , then he is using the same computer as another member . Maybe they share the same Library Card too .
  5. Maybe it's because a member , not to be mentioned , did a name change ....
  6. Saw a total of 11 deer today . Nothing with antlers . Spooked 3 deer out of laneway while heading for my stand . It was a bit nippy out . I expected deer to be coming from the field to me but a mama and her 2 fawns were in the thick stuff . None of them seemed to be aware of me except a doe fawn looked up and went back to eating leaves . The mama stayed in the thick crap and was about 10 yards away . The two fawns came into the open area and one of them was at the bottom of my ladder stand eating leaves where I had peed earlier . She then went between the ladder and a small tree and she bumped the ladder . It was pretty neat . They all headed north . I moved to a different stand and saw another 5 deer between #:30 and 6:20 . When I loaded my ATV last night I noticed the front right tire was soft . Filled it up and it looked okay this am . When I finished hunting , I loaded the ATV back on the trailer . When I cinched the ratchet strap for the right front I noticed the tire was soft again . Checked it out when I got home . Looks like a piece of barb wire in the tire . Will have to get it fixed Monday .
  7. Haven't seen any thing since 830. Bored stiff. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. Saw 3 doe at 620 am on the way to the stand . Just had a doe and 2 fawns in the thick crap to my right. They didn't cross into the open area like they are supposed to. One of the fawns was eating leaves at the base of the stand where I had peed . So far the deer aren't cooperating with me . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Finishing my oatmeal and coffee and then get ready to head to Geneseo ..... a 50 mile drive . The front right tire on my ATV was soft . Inflated it . Hope it's okay for today . Otherwise I am screwed .
  10. Gear up .... it's going to be mighty cold in the AM . Big change in temperature since Monday . Clobal cooling is coming ...........
  11. I got down from the stand at 10:30 . I hadn't dressed warm enough and was quite cold . Had the wind in my face all morning . The doe and her fawns were less than 15 yards from me and never looked up . Maybe I will see about shooting the Mama in a couple weeks but I was holding out for a buck . All I saw was the 3 deer . I am taking hand warmers tomorrow !
  12. Just had a doe and 2 fawns go by at less than 15 yards. I was tempted to shoot but figured I'd wait until later in the season. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. It's cold, cloudy and quiet at the dry swamp in Walworth.l Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. If the buck had stayed out of the tree , it would still be alive !
  15. Going to give a spot in Walworth this am . Forecast does show showers at 9am . Hopefully it will be a good day one way or another .
  16. I don't BAN anyone except Spammers . Post what you want and keep changing your name as often as you want .
  17. The reason I asked about the Frog Toggs is taht I had looked at more expensive rain gear . The expensive stuff has what looks like a liner that doesn't let your body heat dissipate so you are dripping sweat inside and it keeps the rain outside .
  18. Chef , you don't "take a dump" , you leave one per George Carlin !
  19. Make sure it isn't blackbelt bill ! We would be overloaded with a lot more of the Kung-Fu crap videos !
  20. I think the approval thing started when we were being inundated with so many spammers . No idea why there is a problem now . Burmjohn has to make the approvals .
  21. Does anyone wear this rain gear when hunting ? I have looked at different water proof rain gear and a lot of it isn't breathable and you sweat when wearing it . Other rain gear is so overpriced . I might wear the stuff a couple times a season . The worst thing with the Frog Toggs is that it is noisy .
  22. Here is the article -------- Dick’s sells Field & Stream in Henrietta From Staff Reports Rochester Democrat and Chronicle USA TODAY NETWORK Pittsburgh-based Dick’s Sporting Goods announced plans earlier this week to sell eight Field & Stream stores to Utah-based Sportsman’s Warehouse Holdings Inc. The eight Field & Stream stores includes the Henrietta location at The Marketplace Mall, according to paperwork filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The sale is expected to close Oct. 11. Sportsman’s Warehouse said in a press release that it was purchasing the stores for $28 million. The other locations, according to SEC documents, are Washington, Altoona, and Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; Horseheads; Greensboro and Asheville, North Carolina; and Troy, Michigan. “This acquisition is consistent with Sportsman’s strategy to return to a more typical store growth pattern, following a period of investment in omnichannel capabilities, technology, and debt reduction over the last two years,” Sportsman’s Warehouse said in a release. Sportman’s Warehouse, which bills itself as the largest outdoor specialty store in the western United States and Alaska, is based in Midvale, Utah, and already has 95 locations. That business began in 1986 in Utah. Sportman’s Warehouse CEO Jon Barker said this was “an opportunistic expansion.” “Each of these stores operate in strong markets, with well-established customer bases,” Barker said in a release. “We look forward to serving these communities with our continued strong commitment to provide outstanding gear and exceptional service to inspire outdoor memories.” Dick’s began in 1948 in Binghamton and currently has 727 locations across the country. The business also owns Golf Galaxy. The Henrietta Field & Stream location opened in 2014
