I won't be hunting but I plan on being in the woods . I have my gear ready and my rain jacket . I am in no shape to be drawing a bow so I wil be there with my camera hoping to see some / any wildlife .

I am NOT boycotting DICKs or F&S . I don't care what others feel about those stores . Both stores are loaded with pistols , rifles , shotguns , ammo .

Stopped at DICKs in Webster today . I had a coupon plus a gift card . Saw some Decimator carbon fifer bolts with lighted nocks priceed at $ 29.99 for 3 . They were originally over $50 . When I got up the the cash resister there was a problem . The bolts rang up at $19.98 so I had to grab a couple of other things to use the $10 off coupon . Awesome !

I have a pair of Bushnell 7X15 power Binos . I like them but lighter is better . They were $100 at DICKs and were on sale for $50 plus I used a $10 coupon . However , I grabbed a pair of 8X binos at WalMart for $7 that are compact and work fine . My problem with all the binos is ---- In cold weather , they fog up from the heat from my face . Still trying to figure out how to eliminate that problem .

My 2 confrontations could have turned out bad > I am 5'8" and overweight . The two different guys I screamed at were big boys and if it had come to blows , I would have gotten my ass handed to me . Then again , with the adrenaline flow , I might have come out okay .

Damn right I was wearing Blaze Orange ! I ALWAYS wear Blaze Orange when gun hunting .

Had a re-occuring thought come to mind . I remember 3-4 occasions having gun hunters on adjacent properties look at me through their gun scopes . It's a nerve wracking experience . I was able to confront 2 of these a-holes directly after getting out of my stand and walking to them even though I went onto their property . Both said " I didn't have my finger on the trigger " . I was literally screaming at these yahoos for having their guns pointed at me and said for $10 they could carry a pair of cheap Binos to scan the area . I had words with them and left ......... I don't feel that I over reacted as there is nothing more scary than staring at a gun barrel pointed your way .

We rented a cabin in Old Forge several years ago . Deer were all over the place . Saw 5 bucks laying in a shady spot near the highway . People feed the deer right in their yards and the deer become dependent on that !

Maybe if you order it on AMAZON , they will deliver it to the spot by DRONE !

I am not ready . Spent over 2 weeks in the hospital recently . Doubt if I could draw my bow . I would like to put on camo and at least sit in the woods opening day ( if my legs are steady enough ) .

Since hunting is out of the picture for a while , I will add to this this saga . This past Wednesday my heart rate was running between 130 -140 BPMs . I was taken to Highland Emergency . They did a CT Scan and an ultrasound and found a small blood clot on my right lung and another in my right leg . They put me on several meds to stabilize my heartbeat . Got turned loose this afternoon to go go home . The Buffalo Bills rewarded me with a win over the Vikings . They changed a lot of meds and I have a list of crap to take . I won't be bow hunting but I am tempted to sit in my friend's woods opening day just to be out there .

Back to the hospital yesterday. Heart rate at 125 plus. Katscan . Ultrasound . Echocardogram .etc. blood clot in lung and right leg. WTF else can go wrong ? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I have caught a few raccoons . For the last two , I caught in a haveaheart trap , I placed the trap in a 55 gallon plastic drum filled with water to see if the raccoon could swim . I checked 1/2 hour later . They had quit paddling !

My main point wasn't clear . This could happen to anyone at any time . Other than being old and overweight , I have always been able to hike back into the woods with my hunting equipment with no problem . This bleeding internally came out of the blue . In my semi consciousness I started thinking of all the things I had put off for another day and would never have gotten done . There is so much catching up to do when I get well . No more procrastinating ! Don't ever think that you are indestructible !

Live every day like it's your last On Friday , August 24 , I had my ATV and trailer all loaded up ready to roll Saturday am . I was sick to my stomach . My wife was in Yellowstone and when I told her I was vomiting , she said go to urgent care . Being stubborn , I refused . A neighbor stopped by and I told hime not to come in that I was fine . Saturday am , my wife couldn't get hold of me and made a couple calls . My daughter came to the house to find me on the kitchen floor almost unconsciencious , laying in a mess . Apparently I was bleeding internally . I was hauled away in an Ambulance to Highland Hospital . The med in the ambulance poked my wrist at least a dozen trying to find a vein so they could give me meds but I was too dehydrated . At the hospital , I was given 4 blood transfusions . Over the next few days I was given a Colonoscopy , an Endoscopy , a special cardiogram where they kick started my heart . I was on so many meds that I was seeing things that didn't exist but They were vivid images . Scarey ! I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital . They treated me well but it was difficult getting any sleep or rest while there . They finally turned me loose September 3 . I have been to several specialists sine my release . They assume that since I was taking Naproxen (Allieve) daily for so long that it could have put a hole in my stomach lining and caused the Internal Bleeding . My Red Cell Blood Count is still low . Still taking all kinds of meds , vitamins , etc .. I am still weak , tired and finding it difficult to concentrate on anything . A lot of things went through my mind while near death . I thought about needing to make my oldest son co-owner of my pistols . Giving away some of my other possessions while still above ground and telling folks that I love them . There is a lot of catching up to do in the near future . The reason I wrote this is to lets folks know that this could happen to anyone at any time .
