This is the buck with the goofy rack that I mentioned above . Got him on a couple of my trail cams .

Call police again . Offer to give them some Dunkin Donuts Gift Cards . Maybe that will get them to show up .

I don't remember what the hours were . I started deer hunting in 1965 when my father in law asked me to hunt with him .

Finally got out thanks to my two sons that hunt . Not steady enough to go it alone . Arrived at the Geneseo property at 5:30 . Put my gear on the ATV and drove down to the elevated hub blind at the pond . Saw a doe in the cut corn field at 7:05 . She was about 150 yards away . It was cold and when the sun came out the frost on the ceiling of the blind melted and started dripping where the ceiling panel and wall meets . Real quiet for several hours . Around 2pm , I saw a small buck with a goofy rack come out of the thickets and go Wast . Then 2 doe ran from that area into the thickets . They came back out within 5 minutes and went West . About 15 minutes later 2 more doe left the thickets and went West . Around 3 pm another buck left the thickets and went in the same direction . Everything was at least 100 yards away . Since I don't have the crossbow sighted in for that distance , I never took a shot . My youngest son saw two coyotes early in the morning but too much small stuff in the way to take a shot . None of us got a shot but at least we saw some deer .

Neat idea but I have cable locks on all my cameras ever since one disappeared . On another note ,, after watching the OPs video , another came up with game camera tips . The guy placed a game camera over looking a mineral block with corn dumped over it . Thought that was funny . Don't try it !

Never saw more than 3 ARs in the Webster Dicks store . They weren't much of a seller there either . They had a big Gun Sale this week ( rifles , shotguns , pistols ) . Enjoy shopping at Beikirchs ! In another note , I wonder where some of the small gun shops are going to get their ammo supply from . Several were being supplied by Beikirchs .

Talked to my sons and we changed our minds about hunting Saturday . Wind and rain the factor . Going to go to Geneseo and get my elevated blind finished , do some trimming and check the ratchet straps on some ladder stands . I did shoot my Sniper 370 at 30 yards today . Shot at 3 different spots so as not to ruin any bolts . If I could only relax when I shoot the crossbow I would be okay .

Planning on hunting in Mendon Saturday . Wind in the am is WNW then NW . Wind changes from 9mph at 7am to 21 mph at noon . then 22 mph WNW at 1 pm and up to 25 mph then back to 22 mph at 5 pm . Hmmmmmmmm .....what to do . Sunrise 7:47 Sunset 6:00

Made it through another year

I picked up a 8H and a 8F . Hope I can fill a few .

About 34 here . Mostly little rug rats accompanied by their parents .

I set up a blind in my back yard so I could check out my Sniper 370 as it has been raining . Shot a few bolts at 20 yards and moved the scope 8 clicks to the right . Still have to check it at 25 and 30 yards . I plan to hunt with my oldest son this Saturday . I took NYSlowhands advice and shortened the cocking rope a couple more inches .

I bet some of the young guys on here have never seen a half dollar . They have been pretty scarce for a few years .

I have a TruGlo single pin sight on two different bows > No problem with either . I have marks on the tape for 20 yards and 30 yards .

I have never been desperate enough to need to shoot a deer outside of legal hours .

If we take a deer to my son's home , we butcher the deer that day . I f I take it home , i hang it and usually cut it up the next day . We put the meat in totes and put them in a fridge . The meat gets processed within the next two days .

A few bucks on one camera

Left a hub blind on a 6' high elevated platform that I installed on an old pond bank over 2 years ago . Between the sun and the winter weather , it was trashed . I replaced it with another blind today to use during gun season and possibly with the crossbow . Need to cut more shooting lanes but didn't have time .

Soooo , I went down in the basement to see if I could cock the crossbow . No go . Forgot that I had to have it on "FIRE" and the hooks over not under . Still no go . I took my backup cocking device and shortened the rope and tried again . BINGO ! Shot the X-bow a couple times just to make sure and will have to check it out in the back yard this weekend .
