I was out from 6 until 11 this morning . Kicked a doe our walking in . No turkey sounds or sightings . Heard a couple shots way south of me around 9 am . Around 9:30 I spotted a doe slowly coming my way chewing leaves and slowly approaching . after a while , she bolted and ran back about 70 yards . I used my call and she came back for another look . At least I saw something . Glad that I always take my Canon camera with me .

I went to my SIL's woods in Geneseo where I had several pics of Turkeys . I sat in a ladder stand that had a rail and put camo burlap on it for cover . Saw one one hen and a couple doe . It saturated with water back in the woods . Some spots had 8 to 9 inches of standing water as it doesn't drain . On another note . Last summer I noticed several posted signs were missing the papers . Nothing laying around so they had to have been ripped off . I reposted them . Since I was within 100 yards of them I trudged back to check them out . They were gone . If the woods ever dries up . I will go back with a ladder and put the signs higher .

Still at war with the vermin . I was out by the shed where I store my ATV yesterday and saw something scurry under the shed tent flap . Put out the cheapie wooden mouse traps and checked this am . Caught a mouse in one and a Vole in another . I need Grampy to trap that Killer Chipmunk and send it my way !

Thanks for the replies . I may give it a try . The woods I have to hunt are wet and I mean WET with a lot of standing water . I think the turkeys that go through there have webbed feet !

Has anyone or does anyone ever turkey hunt from a ladder stand with a shooting rail and camo skirt for concealment ? The woods I hunt are very wet and any chair / stool , etc would sink in . Wonder if hunting from an elevated place would be a stupid idea .
