Nick , my youngest son , Is the one I helped . He didn't ask me . I just knew that with buying his 1st home that he was overwhelmed with work that had to be done before moving into the house . The gutters were something that I could handle while he did other necessary chores . The shingles had been replaced a little over a year ago and the gutter should have been cleaned or replaced at that time . They were loaded with grit from the previous roof . If I needed help doing something at home , Nick would be the one I could call on to help . I got more satisfaction out of helping him than going to dinner . It was a good Father's Day .

Forgot to mention that my son had taken the insulation off of the walls in the basement as there was a water problem . In my brilliance I said I could haul it home and see what I could do to get rid of it . He rolled it up and I strapped it down in my trailer . As I was going up Egypt Valley road and then across Co Rd 32 I could see flakes of the insulation blowing away . When I got to the Sunoco Station at Rt 64 , I pulled in , got out a small tarp and covered the insulation up as best I could and then lashed it down again . I had to tie off the grommets at spots so the tarp wouldn't blow back from the wind resistance . And then as I was doing this the skies opened up and there was a downpour . I got my butt soaked but I longer had to worry about littering the highway and chancing on a ticket . It wasn't quite an awesome Father's Day but I was glad I was able to help with my son's 1st house .

Two of my kids had invited me to dinner but had to take rain dates . I had already told my youngest son that I would come down and help out with the home that he and his wife bought down near Honeoye . I spent several hours up and down a ladder cleaning the gutters out . They were loaded with crap . After I got most of the junk out , I cleaned the shingle grit with my old wet-dry Sears Vaccuum cleaner . I had that fastened to the ladder and dropped it from at least 10 feet and it still kept working . I refinished and stained a 70 year old picnic table and benches and took them down to the property . So , I got a pretty good workout and I am tired !

Oh yeah , I thought I might catch a Sheriff Deputy or Trooper to ask but when I went by Dunkin' Donuts , none were there .

I asked at two places today . The manager at TSC said it's illegal because they cause injury in parking lots when people bang their shins on them and he also said that extra damage is done when someone tail ends you . I figured that's why I kept mine on to prevent damage to my vehicle . The second person I asked is a mechanic and tow truck driver . He also said the hitches are illegal if you aren't hauling anything and that when they go camping , the guy at the gate makes them remove the hitch if they aren't towing anything . He also said that some counties in Pennsylvania , the cops will stop you if you have the Nads hanging from the back of the truck and you pay a $45 fine .
-
I agree . I think a person would have to be a real Gomer to hang those from a hitch . No offence meant Pygmy . j/k
-
Someone told me this but I never heard of anyone getting a ticket for leaving their hitch on . Don't see why it would be illegal . ????

Several years ago I sighted in a young friend's shotgun at our range . I used Federal rifle slugs in a rifled barrel which I had always done in my 12 gauge . My friend's 12 gauge had a smooth bore barrel . I took the youngster to the range ( Ontario Gun Club ) . He was scattering rounds all over the target at 50 yards . A guy was standing behind up watching and asked what brand ammo he was shooting and I said Federal .The guy said some shotguns don't like certain ammo and he should try Remington . I asked Jeff to swap places and let me take a shot . I then asked Jeff where I had hit . He said , almost center bullseye . The guy left . From watching my friend shoot , I surmised that he was FLINCHING and that it wasn't an "ammo problem" . I suggested that he buy a couple Snap Caps and practice aiming and squeezing the trigger . Took him hunting a few times . He has killed several deer over the years .

I believe he is still around . I remember going to a 5K race many years ago in Geneseo . His band played before the race and did a great job purposely marching out of step .Buzzo marched in a bathrobe and slippers . Havn't seen any of his Buzzo commercials in years ! The Bear fountain has been hit 3 times in the past year . It has been there since the 1880's .

Hope you are doing better than my wife and sister in law . They made a trip to Lisbon , Fatima , Lordes , Barcelona , etc .. They came back sick . Picked them up at the airport lack night . Nothing but coughing and hacking all the way home . Took my wife to Urgent Care when I got back from church . She has pneumonia . Her sister went to Strong emergency and also has pneumonia . Apparently touring some of these musty and damp places and running the air conditioning did the trick . Both of them also have laryngitis . -
I think I am going to buy some Fly Ribbons and try them out . They are sticky as heck and you have to be careful hot to touch the sticky part . I will take along some push pins so I can pin one end to a tree and wrap it around the tree above and below like Growie said to do with the Gorilla tape . The fly ribbons are sticky on both sides . I won't be going to Geneseo for a couple weeks .

Never heard of that Growie . I will have to try that out . Would probably work like some of those sticky mouse traps . P.S. ---- I guess the hard part would be getting the tape away from the Gorilla !
