  1. My son hasn't put out a trail cam but ..... there is a spot in Mendon where he has seen 12 bucks during a sitting in the evening . He has crop damage permits and the bucks are out but the does have been coming out too late . I know they can be shot up until 11 pm but we have never shot them in the dark hours .
  2. The thread is gone and the phoney account is also gone . If the person who created the account does it again , he will be GONE !

  4. They have been logging almost a mile south of my friends and a couple houses were built back off the road about 1/2 mile south of the property . I am wondering if this is causing the deer to travel my friends property more frequently . Any thought on this ?
  5. I call our bathroom "the Jim" . When I tell people that I go to the Jim quite often , they are impressed !
  6. Your deer are probably on Wooly's camera ............
  7. Do some research on the adaptors and check out the reviews . Some are not compatable with various phones . The adaptors aren't that big / bulky . Here is mine with a SD card next to it .
  8. Pretty vague ..... no mention as to how far from the road a person has to be . Question: How far off the highway must I be before I can discharge my firearm, crossbow or longbow? Answer: The Environmental Conservation Law prohibits you from discharging the firearm, crossbow or longbow in such a manner that the arrow, bolt, bullet or load of shot passes over any portion of the highway, which may include maintained portions including the shoulder, drainage ditches, etc.
  9. On the Samsung S5 I can open a picture and enlarge it to see better . I will be able to tell if a camera that is 50 miles away isn't working right on the spot rather than get home and find out . Just another inexpensive toy .
  10. Thanks . I will give that a try tomorrow . I found that I can put the pics on a grid instead of list and that helps . Still experimenting . Glad you brought the topic up to begin with .
  11. I received a card reader that plugs into my Samsung S5 . I put a SD card in and can open it and see the pics but I can't view them like in the Gallery . I have to close each picture and open the next . Gotta figure out something else . No instructions . Pretty neat gadget though .
  12. No but my friend's kid rode the ATV out there this afternoon and said that buck was bedded down out by the swamp so he didn't ride any farther after spooking the buck . I hope the buck went by one of my cameras .
  13. I was under the impression that a property line was 30 feet from a highway center line .
  14. I did that and still had ants ruin 2 Primos cameras . Took them apart and cleaned things up and they still won't work .
  15. Rage 2 blade broadheads are Legal . Rage 3 blade broadheads are ILLEGAL . This topic has been covered . http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/112-rage-3-blade-are-they-legal-in-ny-or-not/page-2?hl=%2Brage+%2Bblade#entry384850
  16. Welcome to Hunting NY and good luck .
  17. I used to use Red Fox pee for a cover scent but havn't been able to get any since the guy died !
  18. What does he hunt that starts Sept 1st ?
  19. I think thew Wildlife Research stuff is artificial so it should be fine .
  20. Never cared for hang on stands due to the short depth of the seat . In cold weather your back is next to the tree and it feels like your back is against an ice cycle . Ground blinds are fine and are comfortable .. I wouldn't bow hunt in anything other than a Hub Blind vs Dog House type blind as they are roomy enough to be able to shoot a bow . Great for cold weather and rainy days ! I really prefer using Ladder stands . They are rather inexpensive and I can put one up without any help . The 2 man stand is great for a single Bow Hunter as it is quite roomy . Excellent visibility but you have to be careful how you set it up so you aren't "sky lined" . It needs to be in a tree with some cover and a big enough diameter tree that doesn't sway a lot on a windy day .
