The way to stop an Elephant from charging is to take away it's credit card !
-
Borngeechee---- that's the one I remember . It's a wonder those hunters didn't shoot each other !
-
I hate when I get lion slobber on my leg !

Fine , but I will stick with what works for me . I use 777 loose powder and have NEVER had a hang fire . Of course you could put a primer carrier in your gun with out a primer and would assume that the gun is possibly ready to fire . You wouldn't know that with the converted primer plug as no tab would be visible . I have a small pill carrier that will hold 2 primer carriers on each side . Never had the need to use more than one on any hunt . If it works , don't fix it !
-
Sorry but I will keep my plastic primer holders as they work great especially for anyone who has arthritis in their hands . If you see the orange tab sticking out , you can be pretty darned sure that the gun is primed . Don't know why folks don't like the orange primer holders as they can be used over and over . I could purchase 50 of the plastic primer holders for the price of a conversion plug .

Nice but ...... I was disappointed that the other 35 didn't show up . It was neat that the camera never fazed any of them .

I saw 5 deer cross the laneway as I was walking . They were at least 250 yards away . A beautiful sight ! I only walked 1.3 miles but I was whipped when I got back to my car . My snowshoes were broken so I trudged through the snow . I had a ski pole with me for balance . As I was leaving Geneseo on Rt 20A , I was heading East just past the Aldi's entrance . Saw a deer laying out in the middle of a field watching traffic . I pulled off to the side and watched for a few minutes with the binos . It didn't appear to be injured but I really couldn't tell .

Shady McCoy to the Bills for Alonso?
fasteddie replied to The_Real_TCIII's topic in General Chit Chat
Don't know why they picked up Harvin if Rex is going to pound the ball on the ground . The Bills gave up Scott Chandler who often gets 10- 13 yards per catch . Big loss ! -
Phade --- I have had that cam in the same spot for almost 3 years . I do believe the deer are used to it . I have only ever shot 4 deer from a stand that is in the direction that the camera is pointing towards ( gun - 1 ...... bow - 3 ) . As you can see , the snow was fairly deep on deer in some pics .

Moultrie I-35 ( 6 C batteries ) Set camera out Dec 21 .....over 322 pics taken .... Battery at 66 percent
-
Thought I had a different cam there so I took the wrong batteries . Primos Truth Cam Blackout . Set it out Dec 20 and batteries are at 40 percent . Flash doesn't reach out far enough .

I hung a Trail Cam on a wild cherry tree once and ended up with ants in the camera . I could see them through the lens cover on the housing . I sprayed ant killer in the battery housing , placed the cam in a double bag and sprayed in the bag . I put the whole thing in a bucket with a snap lid and sprayed some more . Ants were dead . On another camera , I put some cotton balls in the battery housing and put ant killer on them . No problem even though I saw ants on the tree outside the camera .

Yes , a lot of bees are dying off . Much of it is due the the Genetically Engineered herbicides . Friends of mine had to hire a bee keeper from Florida to come up with his bees and pollinate their orchards .

I had cut part of the top off of a Golf Ball retriever and used it to prop the foof of the Blind . I am hoping that it dis the job and is still up . Anyway I am anxious to check out the Trail cams .
-
I will be heading to Geneseo tomorrow to check out 2 trail cams and see if my Hub Blind on the Quad Pod got trashed over the winter months . It will probably be a rough walk but I need to get outside and see what's in the woods and my hunting area .

I put one of my Primos Black Flash cameras in the back yard to test it . I was getting some crappy pics and thought it might be the glare from the snow messing things up . . I took it off of the post and brought it in the house . Took a good look at the lens and it looked like some cotton inside the cam . Took the 12 screws off the back ( found out I only needed to remove the top 6 ) and discovered where ants or something had left a small mess . Put some Windex on a q-tip and cleaned the plastic lens cover and lens . Placed the camera in one of the windows to re-test it . If that works , it was rather a simple fix . A couple old cameras that I took apart were a pain to put back together due to rubber seals , etc ..

I have never had a problem getting a Regs Booklet from the Town Clerk's Office .

Now there's a smart guy !

I was shooting woodchucks for a farmer a few years ago . He told me to shoot ant feral cats that I saw . I wasn't about to assume that any cat I saw was feral and that it could be someone's pet so I left the cats alone .

Having a Barred Owl help reduce the varmint chickens is a pretty neat idea !

Best "Gun" Movie (Not a War Movie)
fasteddie replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I don't know enough about vintage guns but " Death Hunt " was a great movie . The setting was the Yucon Territory in 1931 . I don't think Charles Bronson ever made a bad movie . -
Most of the reviews I saw on this camera were 5 stars . Didn't see anything about it taking multiple pictures . One complaint was unless something was within 20 feet at night it didn't show anything as claimed by the 55 foot feature it is supposed to have . The cheapie Wildgame I have doesn't shot the temperature .........so I don't know if it didn't trigger because of the freezing temps .

Is it necessary for you to try to turn everything into something Political ? Get a life !

Range Finder question
fasteddie replied to virgil's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I use the incline setting on my Halo . Makes little sense not to use it if it's available . The Halo is small and compact . I range a few spots and just keep it handy on a hook in the tree stand . -
Jason -- That is the only picture of a Yote that I ever got on camera . I shot a young coyote on Lewis Road in Walworth a few years ago . Several folks in that area claim to hear the yotes howl at night . The pic that I posted was taken on County line road just north of Atlantic . The sad part is ..... I had the camera there toward the end of December and only 11 pics of which 2 were me approaching the camera . Not much activity for that length of time . The pic with the deer ....it must have been within a couple feet of the camera .
