Should have gotten them when you had the chance . So many bees have died of due to the pesticides . Friends of ours have to pay a guy to come up from Florida or Georgia to pollinate their fruit trees .

Look's like our back tags may be a thing of the past?
fasteddie replied to maytom's topic in General Chit Chat
Shesh , a lot of whiney excuses for not wearing a back tag . Been wearing them for 50 years . Never lost one . I asked the clerk to print a couple extra copies so I can attach one to my backpack and another on my jacket so I always have one . I also put one on a vest for when I go woodchuck hunting . -

I got two guys over the years by using their back tags . They walked within 30 -40 yards of my stand . Binos do wonders especially when the guys don't even know your there until you hollar . Don't know what the DEC did but never saw them again . It was two different instances and the Avon DEC didn't mind the call . Hey , why do we need license plates on cars ? What a nuisance ! -

I never had any problem with wearing a back tag . Maybe the crying and whining about wearing them will come to an end it it goes through plus it will be beneficial to trespassers so their back tag number will no longer be seen . -
I bought an ATV in 2009 . I hunt alone and can no longer drag a deer a mile to my vehicle . Yeah , I guess I am just lazy . I leave it on my trailer and don't unload it unless I have a deer to haul out of the woods . When I got rid of my hedges in the yard , I dug at them , cuts roots and pulled them out with the ATV . Worked great . In Geneseo , where I hunt , I can't drive it too far as the ground doesn't drain . This didn't stop trespassers as someone has driven past the Posted Signs and dug up the horse trail . I use mine to get up to my son's property in Italy Valley . It's a steep climb with water bars , etc .. It also makes it easier to haul ladder stands and put up posted signs .

Nice pics . I wonder what the mark is on the deer's hind quarter in the second post ......

How to wax a bow string by 60X Custom Strings
fasteddie replied to 60X Custom Strings's topic in Bow Hunting
I use Scorpion Wax . It comes with a round piece of leather . Dab the leather in the wax , spread it and start running it up and down the string . It will get warm . -

Personally when I hunt I ask where the property lines are . Knowing that , I don't hunt an area that I don't have permission to hunt whether there are posted signs or not . I sent pics of Trespassers from a trail cam to my SIL but she couldn't identify them . They walked / Rode ( couple on ATV ) right past two posted signs .

Are deer spooked by Trail Cams ?
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
NFA --- I hear you . I put cameras 10' in trees on a friend's property in Walworth and have to carry a ladder to do it . I keep the ladder cabled to a tree in the woods . In Geneseo the property is much larger and I don't carry a ladder with me . I have had the camera in the same place for 2 - 3 years and the deer are used to it . They return for more pics . I figure that if something works , don't fix it . I have had other cameras on this property and had the same deer return multiple times . I may be hard headed but like I said , if it works , don't fix it . -
What the heck happened with PhotoBucket ? I used to be able to post a link for a video and it would show up with no problem . Apparently they improved it and made it terrible ! If I post a link , I have to go through extra steps to be able to view a video . Right now PhotoBucket pretty much stinks ! I hate to keep putting stuff up on YouTube .

Are deer spooked by Trail Cams ?
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
Once the deer spot the camera , they don't come back ---- Wrong ! check the dates ..........The camera is attached to a tree about 4' high in a lock box . I don't spray the camera or wear gloves . They must like my scent .......... -

I have had that camera in the same spot for over 2 years . I get pics of bucks and does . It sometimes appears that they pose for the camera . I have had the same buck go in front of the camera numerous times .
