I only have 2 doe in the freezer and I plan to head to Geneseo tomorrow morning with the ML .

My sons and I have a spot in Pittsford where we bow hunt . I use another persons stand ( who gun hunts) and he and family use our stands during gun season and we stay out of that property during the gun season . It works out for all of us .

Went to a friend's property on Furnace about 1/2 mile from my house . Sat there for 2 1/2 hours and walked slow 1 1/2 hours and saw nothing . It's a wooded area with dirt bike racing trails and high weeds along the sides . Saw very few tracks . Will probably take the ML to Geneseo Monday .

Same here . No problem as the blood drains from the mouth . Makes it easier to skin and cut up .

They had a blurb on the news about the over abundance of deer in the area . They said the deer population has increased and isn't being controlled effectively . Some Deer Management guy was on there and stated that not enough deer are being taken by hunters and that some of the control was by "road kill" . They showed several shots of deer roaming in lawns and said as suburban sprawl increased the deer had less habitat . No fooling . Deer know where they are safe . I am not seeing deer in the woods during the daylight hours and places where I have gotten several deer pics on camera are not showing up now . Kinda sucks to drive 100 miles round trip and not see deer .

I will wear orange .... just don't make it mandatory

I always wear Blaze Orange during gun season but I would never support having it mandatory .

I am too lazy to make my own marinade . I prefer to buy the McCorrmick package Peppercorn - Garlic and love the stuff . All that is necessary to add to the mix is oil , water and vinegar . Simple , quick and delicious .

I wouldn't consider someone gassing up on the way to hunt a slob hunter . My idea of a slob hunter is someone who litters and area , removes posted signs , breaks fences , etc ... How someone smells doesn't fall into that category . Just an opinion .

It's a choice . I heard of a guy who wore his work clothes hunting and smelled like diesel fuel . He killed deer . Smelling like that was his prerogative and he scored while hunting . I don't want all that stink on me ..... be it gas , oil , bacon grease , etc ..

The Original Post looks to me like a stir the pot post . Go ahead and gas your car up on your way to your hunting spot . Nothing is stopping you so what's your problem ! My preference is to gas up the night before and if I did have to get gas in the am , I would put on a pair (or at least one) of the vinyl gloves . I dress with minimal hunting clothes on the way and have my hunting clothes in a tote or scentproof bag . Do I care if others do this ? Hell no ! For me , the less scent , the better . I used to smoke and shot deer while doing so . The deer have evolved and have gotten smarter . I stopped at Fastrack to get gas a few days ago . The damned hose leaked right where it swivels . Got gas all over my hands and on my boots . I went in and told the clerk that the hose was screwed up . Went to the john and washed my hands and could still smell the gas on them . Some hunters care about being scent free but that doesn't make them an elitist ! Take whatever stink you want to the woods when you hunt .........

We stop at different restaurants on some Saturday am's as well as on Sunday after Mass . When you walk out of the restaurants and get in the car , you can smell grease . That's why I NEVER eat at any restaurant when hunting .
