Buck haters ---- really ??? When I deer hunt and a buck or doe approaches with the possibility of getting a shot my heart starts pounding . Either one doesn't change the equation . I retired in 1998 and have plenty of time to spend in the outdoors and just seeing deer , etc is fun . If bucks were "off limits" , I would still be out there just as much .

It was easier to say than New Jersey Bozo (Christie) but could have been for the NYC mayor !

I call BS on this reply . You aren't bursting any bubbles here . Would I like to shoot a buck ..... sure . If bucks were off limits , shooting doe would be fine . I am not about to pass up any shot on a doe (unless it's a fawn) . I don't think the original post was about choosing one over the other . It was about if you weren't allowed to shoot any bucks , would you change your hunting . It's about putting meat in the freezer . Some guys won't shoot doe and several landowners that I know don't want those guys on their property as they want the herd reduced and have less crop damage . I have never shot what would be considered a trophy buck . The biggest I have shot was a 7 pt and 8 pt . I have shot doe larger than several of the bucks and have gotten more meat off of them . Buck or doe , whatever crosses my path . Will I wait for the big one to come along ? No way . NOTHING WOULD CHANGE !

If Rex gets the job , I hope he gets a good OC . Someone who doesn't call run , run , pass , punt !

I would think it would be a matter of how each blind blends into the background . Fitting a blind into a brushy area would make it less noticeable than if it was in the open . Dom .... how do you set your blinds up ?

I would continue with same drive and passion also . I hunt the deer for the meat , not for the horns . I'll leave the horn hunting to the Neanderthals !

I the guy on RT 104 in Ontario charges around $95 for 2 FC delivered with a 4 week wait $620 total for 8 FC delivered with a 2 week wait Both would cost an additional tax I just called to verify the prices and the lady told me the costs . I also saw where someone complained that he didn't receive any pieces over 14" in his load .

Not bad here but I saw a couple of dumb asses this am . One driver cleared a spot on the windshield but the side and back windows were covered as well as the hood . THe snow on the hood was blowing on the windshield . Don't know how this person could see anything . Another driver had about 6" of snow on her car roof . It was blowing onto other cars as she drove along RT 104 . I was driving on 104 Tuesday and some joker hauled butt past me . About 4 miles farther he was sitting in the ditch spinning his wheels . I tooted and waved .

GVHC pics from a couple years ago

I used to buy log load , cut them to length and split them . Then I started buying the wood cut to length and split that by hand . I moved to buying split woods by the truckload ( 5-10 ) face cord at a time . We havn't used the wood stove in over 5 years as my wife has allergies . Went to Williamson Hardware and purchased a gas stove that will probably be installed next month . There goes the kid's inheritance !

Here are a few survivors from the deer season . A friend who takes pics for the Genesee Valley Hunt Club (fox hunting) snapped this pic . I think it was taken on one of the roads between Geneseo and Avon . I would love to have seen these during gun season ! Picture was taken 12-26-14 ............

He tried to bring the Superconducting Super Collider to Wayne County . We fought it and they started building it in Texas . Never panned out and now they grow mushrooms there . I still have some old No Coumo stickers somewhere .
