    Not absolutely sure what I would really do . I am now in the thinking mode that folks hunting with crossbows might be a big help . Women aren't going to give up their perfume , scented hairspray , nor their their cell phone talk . Kids will get bored and probably break out their electronic games after a short while . With all the smell and commotion the deer may haul butt from the adjacent property and come my way so I am not against the crossbow hunters ........ as long as they don't trespass !

    According to the media guy (ottie Snyder ) from Horton , it will bring women and youngsters into hunting with a crossbow as well as give the guy who doesn't have time to practice with a crossbow more time to hunt . Reference --- Whitetail Journal Magazine July 2006

    I don't like putting cams out without lock boxes but then , they are only a deterrant for a thief . I take a ladder with me and put the cams about 10' high that would be hard to shimmy up .

    They will probably open the Bow Season to X-bows in 2013 and then folks can quit crying about it . That is probably the easiest way to get hunting numbers up .

    I have at least 10 of the 15' stands from DICKs and my son has several . They work fine for me but aren't the most comfortable seat to sit in . I leave them up year round and periodically change the rachet straps . Last year I noticed the manufacturer switched from the solid metal seat to a crappy webbing design . They had something that worked and had to change it . No more of those stands for me !

    Off to the left of the top left pic is is part of a raised bed garden I made for the wife . It has dirt but a lot of vermiculite . cow manure , etc .. It works better than just planting stuff in the ground plain dirt . The tomato plants were HUGE last year .

    I just realized there are at least 3 deer in the pic . I was concentrating on the lead deer .

    No --- It was dug out , then gravel and then Hard Pack was tamped down before the stone was laid .
