  1. What is stupid is seeing a parent riding his / her bike with no helmet and riding with a couple kids that are wearing helmets . Adults can be hurt just as easily .
  2. You sure as heck don't want a bunch of beer drinkers working on a well !
  3. Time to call in the pros and pay big time !
  4. looking good for this early in the year ...........
  5. I know guys that stop off at the Restaurants for breakfast before heading to the woods . You can tell that they did by the smell of grease on their clothes . They aren't as careful as bow hunters in that respect . My opinion !
  6. The Canadian Government isn't slack like ours ! I wonder if the Mexicans will string one of those cables across our southern border !
  7. If he doesn't have his Passport , they will send him back the way he came . He had to be there when the Cable Company strung the wire . They told him that they would do it between noon and 5 pm ..
  8. My NEF Huntsman shoots the 240 gr Hornaday sabots quite well . The Traditions didn't seem to like them . I am going to try them again ( the 240's ) with a different primer .
  9. Trail cam pictures and actual sightings are my # 1 . Physical signs 2nd Cover 3rd funnels / pinch points 4th food sources last ---- the crops are usually gone and the deer are traveling to an unknown source
  10. I was thinking about getting a Deer Crossing sign and put it in my SIL's pasture lot so they would go where I want them to travel .
  11. I wonder how many of the hardened gun hunters will change their tune when crossbows are allowed in all seasons .
  12. I like the 2nd pic . It looks like the fawn is running to Mama . I have noticed that when I have seen mine and others pics of a doe , there has only been one fawn with it . Anyone else seeing this ?
  13. My sister in law is back home in Geneseo now . I had sent her the pics from the trail cam on her property . She called earlier this evening to tell me that a buck with a rack just starting was laying down in the pasture lot behind her house . The pasture slopes down so he could see below and probably smell anything behind him . I think this is the guy she saw .
  14. Yeah Chase Pitkin closed . Ontario 84 Lumber closed . Ontario Plassche Lumber closed . Pretty much forced me to get lumber at Lowes .
  15. I have no idea of what scrap metal is going for either . We have a recycling place ( ALPCO ) in Macedon and they do a heck of a lot of business . We had spring cleanup at the Town Barns in Ontario a few weeks ago . They would take anything you brought in ( almost everything ) and it was surprising how much scrap metal was dropped off . The Town takes the metal to ALPCO as well as batteries and gets the money . It's a win win for getting rid of junk .
  16. I can find most of my stands in the dark . If I can't , I use the red headlamp . One of my stands is on Hawkes Road in South Bristol . I have a tendancy to walk past it in the dark . Then I have to turn around and walk uphill .
  17. I just bought a big ass 10" table saw from a guy in Walworth . I thought I was going to drop a nut horsing it over the side of my trailer . It's an older Craftsman saw with a cable drive and the motor isn't attached to the blade so the blade doesn't vibrate . Now I have to figure out where to put that monster .
  18. Our 84 Lumber in Ontario closed shop many years ago . The local lumber yards are expensive .
  19. Well , the doctor told my son that he has a torn bicep ........Give it a rest for 7-10 days and have it checked again . He's a workoholic and will probably go nuts not being able to do projects .
  20. I caught 3 of them . One year when they were building the housing tract behind us , we were inundated with the little buggers . I trapped 23 chipmunks that summer .
