  1. You have to be careful woth any trimming . What you see in August / September as blocking a shot might be bare in mid October when a lot of the leaves have fallen . If you trim too much , you lose cover .
  2. Enjoyed the video . Nice job ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/beer.gif[/img]
  3. Sorry about this post . I meant to post it in a different thread . I don't need Spell Checker ..... I need Thread Checker ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/angry_table_puter.gif[/img]
  4. Geeze, even steve863 got past the Ted bashing and talked about the message in this one. Is he starting to Mellow ?
  5. What about an old Jeep or truck with a plow that might be servicable to use just for plowing . Something that would stay on the property and just be used for snow plowing .
  6. I leave them up and periodically change the rachet straps . Several of mine have been up for 8 - 10 years . I have a couple of old chain-ons that the tree is growing around . I cable lock all of them and have been lucky so far .
  7. Do you leave them up or take them down at the end od deer season ?
  8. Find a plow guy that has good references . Some of thes guys tear uo a drive . A friend in Macedon has had a plow guy do his drive for 2 years and is considering buying an ATV with a plow . He has a gravel drive and it gets shoved way out into the yard .
  9. I have used mock scrapes for trail cams without the branch . Deer will stop , sniff and move along .
  10. Good advice . It really works .
  11. All you need is a few lanes . You can just trim the tops rather than cut the whole tree down . I had cut some shooting lanes on my mother's property in Groveland and someone must have used the stand because small trees that I lad left standing for cover had been cut down . All that work for nothing !
  12. I don't see how people can afford the cost of cigarettes ! And to think the government used to subsidize the tobacco farmers .
  13. Thanks . I have seen a couple of road kill deer on 104 this month which is rather low . It just seemed a bit high of a count on a short distance on Rt 251 . Usually it's up when the rut is on and the doe are trying to get away or the blood isn't rushing to the buck's brain .
  14. I have driven past the Sampson Army Depot twice in my life and never saw any of the white deer . Bummer !
  15. I saw a couple road kill between Henrietta and East Avon Saturday on Rt 390 where it is somewhat common to see many . I was surprised to hear of high hits in a short stretch on Rt 251 .
  16. Take some pics of your Deer kills !
  17. I can't help because I have Verizon also . I can't complain because my wife pays for my phone so the price is right for me . :
  18. A guy that I work part time for sometimes said he was on Rt 251 last week and saw 3 dead deer between Rt 64 and Rt 65 on Route 251 . This seems abnormal for this time of the year . What's going on ? Any ideas ?
  19. It has a barcode and I wonder if it can be used by more than one person ?????????????
  20. They cut me open to remove a stone years ago . That was a couple years before they started busting them up with Ultra sound . Get healthy for bow season VT !
  21. The owner of Trader Point Archery ( Henrietta ) was there . He runs a shop out of his home . He was selling off his inventory as he plans to just do setups , repairs , etc .. Some of these small shops cannot compete with the bigger boys . I bought my Parker Phoenix EZ Draw from him a few years ago .
  22. The woman by Jake's trailer could get him to come up front by calling him . He wouldn't last long outside the cage .
