  1. They aren't changing . They are burning up from the heat !
  2. $89 isn't a bad price for Nikon's . They make excellent optics . http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/beer.gif[/img]
  3. No sense in being a smart ass . You may not have any idea of how it feels to have some nimrod looking at you through a scope . I have..... during shotgun season . I confronted the guy and called him about every name in the book . Also , the request was for Binos under $100 . I don't see any in the post .
  4. I have had good luck with the Stealth Cams and very bad luck with the WildViews . I bought a Moultrie I-40 and that works great .
  5. What is the best way to clean dies out ? I was told to use Q-Tips with denatured alcohol and then spray a bit of Hornaday OneShot into the die . What do you reloaders do ?
  6. Are the manufacturer's of BOLTS aware of this ??? Why do they call their projectiles , BOLTS ? http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0079921419251a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=bolts&sort=all&Go.y=8&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&Go.x=18&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0079922419253a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=bolts&sort=all&Go.y=8&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&Go.x=18&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0026201416404a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=bolts&sort=all&Go.y=8&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&Go.x=18&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23
  7. How much of a box do you have to have to make it road legal and how high of a box are you going to build ?
  8. I moved the scope back and then moved the front scope ring and moved it back farther . Took the rifle over to the range and zeroed it in ......http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/thumbup.gif[/img]
  9. About a week into archery season and Dick's should be selling the 15' ladder stands for $50 .
  10. Saw this in the paper the other day and it cracked me up .........
  11. It is almost impossible to fit 10 guns ino a 10 gun safe especially if any of them are scoped . Without any scopes , it's still a tight fit . http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/2cents.gif[/img]
  12. I don't want to jinx myself but so far ........ I have not had a deer / car accident . But then again , I have only been driving for 50 years . ')'>http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/picker.gif[/img]
  13. I have more than I need for archery but I always check out the archery section in WalMart and Dick's ....... Walmart used to put their archery equipment out close to the start of the season . They have gotten smarter .
  14. I have been lucky so far so I don't want to say too much and jinx myself !
  15. Doubled up the 2 X 8 's on the bottom and single on top . Leave enough room for them to slide keeping in mind that the trunks don't move in any specific manner due to the variance of the wind .
  16. WEnt to the Batavia Party House this afternoon to their annual York Central School class reunion ( multi classes ) . Anyway , on the way back to Henrietta , the GPS took us on some back roads . When we got around Wheatland , I had to take it real easy and had to really slow down in spots where deer were crossing the roads . Never drove through an area like that before !
  17. Sits --- I have had mine for only a couple years but have used it on a few bow and it is easy to use and real handy . I think I paid around $30 for mine . Prices have gone up ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/pissed.gif[/img]
  18. Doc --- I have had nails pull out or break in the past . That I did to fix it was nail short pieces of 2 X 6 's to the trees for the base of the stand to rest on and nail and or cable the stand to one of the tree trunks . I even nail a 2 X 6 to a 2 X 6 to build it up . This lets the tree trunks sway a bit and the base slides on the 2 X 6 's . And yes , I check things out before climbing into the stand .
  19. They may hold back on the permits and then give them out with the extras at the later date . The DEC does make things confusing don't they !
  20. I bought the Bowmaster Bow Press from Cabela's . It's portable and handy to have at camp if needed ......http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/beer.gif[/img]
  21. I am not positive but I understand it to be 2 chances if you pick 2 WMUs . I usually ask for 2 different areas just in case .
  22. I put up a 3' X 4" pressure treated stand in Geneseo about 15 years ago . I shot my 1st ever buck with a bow out of the stand . It's 18' up and between 3 big limbs . About 3 years ago , a tree dropped between 2 of the limbs and crushed the stand and broke the ladder . Of all the places for that to happen , it had to fall where it did !
  23. They might know I was carrying because its hard to conceal my Thompson Contender with a 14" barrel under my shirt ...... J/K http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/icon_smile_whistling.gif[/img]....http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/icon_smile_whistling.gif[/img]
