I went to Farmersville yesterday didn't hear anything at first light. Went to try to find 1 and thought I heard a gobble way off so we closed the gap, heard some hen yelps followed by a shot. It was real close so we waited, had a hen run right by. Found another Hunter in a blind on the field edge, still calling so I assumed he missed. Called in 2 hens, no gobbler, saw 1 hen across the street, no gobbler? With all the lone hens I've seen you would think the gobblers would come running. Some scank must have them all at her place!

Had to try Woodcock Brothers Brewery for lunch yesterday. The wife and I took a ride on the scooters (I tried to get Lawdwaz to come but he couldn't keep up). I had to try the beef on weck pizza and wife had a chicken sandwich. Good food and better brews! Had to have a couple of Amber lager/ale.

I went out today back to Little Valley, I didn't hear a gobble at first light. I went to my blind as they have been coming to the field at some point. I had 1 lone hen come in and I hit her with some soft clucks and purrs she made her way over to the deeks. Still no gobbling so I went to find 1. Walked right up to 11:15 and boom I get a gobble, sounds like he's in the woods right behind my blind! I closed the gap and call....boom, game on. I got up and walked out at noon, never heard another gobble. I don't know what happened? But I'm sure i f...ed up some how? Took down the blind as I don't think I will be getting back there this season. I'm not done but it will not be there. I may go to Marilla this weekend, I haven't hunted there all season.

I've used both phone number and email, but the one thing I always do is set up a meeting at a common place. I don't want anyone I don't know coming to my house. The only exception was when I sold my daughters motorcycle but I screened the potential buyers before i set up the meeting. Also I use my cell phone number as you can easily get home phone number info from the internet. Good luck Lawd!

TF, I didn't even see a deer today either! yesterday I had them walk right up to me while I was working those birds. Thought for sure they were going to snort at me and screw up my hunt but they just got nervous and moved around me.

You guys will probably hate me for this but i record a lot of the games and i am watching Anaheim vs Edmonton game 5! I like watching the games and I don't care who wins/looses. At this rate i will be watching hockey well into the summer.

I went back to Farmersville today, went to the same spot that I worked some birds yesterday and nothing. The birds are not there! It was quite windy but if there were any birds in the same area I should have at least heard them. I ended up runnin and gunnin right up till noon and only saw 1 lone hen. Hard to believe the birds have moved on, to where i have no idea. That's turkey huntn for ya!

I got out this morning, busted 2 birds on the way up the hill. sat down and had 2 more gobbling for about a half hour. then nothing, I assumed they went down to the open fields as it was raining(again) I thought it was supposed to be a nice day? We went down to check the fields and found 5 jakes, 1 LB, and a hen! Cut the distance and was able to do a stalk towards them but I must have got busted as when i got to where i should have had a shot they where gone!

Thanks TF, I behaved myself and only had a couple of brews. I got home around 11:30 and got up at 3:15, hunted till noon! It's nap time now! although I have a ticket to the Clarence Center gun raffle I might go and get lunch.

The snarling might have been raccoons. We were camping once and accidentally left out some marshmallows, a couple of coons fought over them for 10 minutes! scared the hell out of the kids!

Nope, going tomorrow, I'll need to get in a nap before the Goat! Going sat and sunday, hope the rain holds off.

Back to my original project, all stained, 2 coats of polyurethane, probably put 2 more coats on. Time to find drawer hardware.

Grow, I have a few of the strikers with the carbon arrow shafts, I was talking about a striker that had some abrasive material on the tip of the wooden striker.

Has any one seen or used a striker with a synthetic tip? I know I had one at one time, of course I can't find it. I was looking for it since all my strikers got wet on Saturday and I remembered that this striker worked when wet. It may have been from Knight & Hale?

Well I went out to a new place I scouted at end of April, had to wait till the owner could go. When we scouted I saw probably 5-6 gobblers and 12 birds so I was excited to say the least. It rained off and on all morning and all I heard was some hen tree yelps, i think she busted us when I tried to move to a better set up. We never heard a single gobble. The owner tells me he hears them every morning before he goes to work, only he hasn't heard any for the last few days! UGG! We covered the whole property and nothing, I'm hoping they will be back soon. When I left he promised to call me as soon as he hears them again. Hopefully it won't be June 1st.

Went out Wednesday evening to try to roost 1, bumped a bird off the roost. I didn't hear any but the woods is scratched up! I set up my blind on the field edge for the morning. Went out in the morning set up near where i busted the bird nothing not a peep. It started to rain about 6 so headed to the blind. I thought it was supposed to be a nice day? it rained on and off all morning and it was windy. I called in 3 jakes and passed a shot, I screwed with them and had them gobbling real good. called them back in an hour later, saw another group below me cross the field so I got up and tried to get ahead of them, no luck it started to rain harder so i gave up. Hope to get out Saturday, got to find where the adult birds are.

Finally got a dust collector, got most of the tools tied in, this should really help control the dust!
