  1. Try following them and call see if they respond. You will learn where they are going and you might just get a satellite gobbler to come back. Be ready to get set up quickly when you call. you don't want to get busted trying to get set up.
  2. Good Luck with that surgery Grampy! Hope you heal quickly.
  3. I scouted a new spot on Saturday, got into at least 6 gobblers, probably some Jakes, but was great hearing all that gobbling and watching them pitch down. I've been out 2x and had birds gobbling at both sites. Of course that will all change once I'm carrying my shotgun! Good luck to all and BE SAFE!
  4. Looks like old over grown farm land, there is a ditch every 20 ft. Similar to where I hunt in Clarence was farmed probably 40 years ago, but the ditches are still there. Good luck hope it grows for you.
  5. I scouted a new spot yesterday am, got into a large group right off. I believe i heard at least 5-6 gobblers. I have to assume some were jakes but I know there are several groups in the area. I can't wait to hunt there, probably won't be till the second week,as I have plans for the opener somewhere else. Good luck to all!!
  6. I heard the pier at Olcott (lake Ontario) is totally under water, The lake has never been that high!
  7. I left my back tags on my turkey vest at least 2x only to realize it opening morning of bow season 70 miles from home and no back tag! ugg! Opps I just re read this and I think it's backwards, I left tags on hunting coat and didn't realize it to opening morning of turkey season! Man I am definitely loosing it!!
  8. My turn to cook.. I just ordered pizza from La Bella Sicillia, classic C&P w/onions for the wife, and a white with sausage and broccoli for me. Left overs for lunch for next couple of days.
  9. Zem add a plywood base and locking casters and you're all set. Some plywood sides will stabilize it, a hinged door and you have a cabinet base. If you want you could put an angled top inside the cabinet to send the wood chips out the back?
  10. Happy Easter to all! , Lawd I have a large French Vanilla Cappacino, with a toasted sesame bagel. Thanks! No family get together this year , half to family is out of town, Wife and I are planning to cook steaks on the grill and have a quiet night.
  11. Ok gun rack done, no what to do..... Sorry, guns not included!
  12. Well said Mike, I couldn't agree more. I first heard of this being done by a former leader of the NWTF, I was amazed but at the same time I thought WTF, you're gonna get shot! I suppose on private property where you "know" you're the only one's out there it might be ok, but you and I both know that people trespass all the time so you may not be the only one out there.
  13. The cabinets have licking casters so the tool doesn't wander.
  14. Zem, I think I have the same saw, bought mine on Clist also. You got a great deal the blades alone are worth more than $30. I'll take some pics but I have built a couple of cabinets for some tools in my shop, put casters on the bottom so they are movable and the extra storage is a bonus. The key to cutting with a band saw is relief cuts so the blade doesn't bind up while trying to rotate the wood.
  15. I absolutely hate hearing this stuff, but it happens. Gotta be sure that you are shooting a turkey and what is beyond it. I always wonder how do you get shot while turkey hunting when you need to see a beard on the turkey before you can shoot it. Although these xxxfull turkey chokes and XR turkey loads can carry a long distance. The report said they where hiding behind a turkey fan? Sounds like they were trying to stalk a gobbler that was out in an open field by crawling behind the open fan, I heard of this but it really sounds dangerous! http://www.realtree.com/turkey-hunting/articles/how-to-fan-a-gobbler
  16. I'm in, Lawd I'll flip you for the DD.
  17. I've been by their place of Earhart Dr? They haven't been open when I drove by, of course i was working and couldn't drink, but I have been wanting to stop in to try some brews.
  18. I'm an amateur also, I had the opportunity to work with a friend in his shop and he taught me a lot. I wish he was still around (RIP Dave). His tools were much better and there are times when I have to ask myself how would Dave do this? Slowly I have been acquiring tools for my shop but I will never have the shop he had, or the ability. Just keep trying and you'll be surprised what you can do, just be patient and careful around the saws and planers! I still need a dust collector! the dust in my shop is everywhere!
  19. My project came to a halt as my better half hasn't picked a stain she likes. So I started to build a portable gun rack for a friend. I added a wood burned scene on the headboard. Still needs varnish and I'll add some felt where the guns rest. Post the finished product in a few days.
  20. I know I've posted a white pizza before, but what can I say, I love white pizza! Alfredo sauce, 3 cheeses, grilled chicken, broccoli, garlic, black olives, jalapeno peppers, and bacon.
  21. Gman made this after I took my first longbeard, I have since ran out of room to add more beards. I have been making these for the nwtf banquets for a few years
  22. Balls balls and more balls, I guess I'm on the wrong site again!
  23. Sounds like a meet and greet is in the works for early May. As long as it doesn't interfere with an early morning wake up call for turkey hunting, I'm in.
  24. Maybe she can do something with your teeth, that picture on your profile page could sure use a cleaning!
