  1. Furniture is moving along, didn't even need to turn on the heat last night! Next step is making the drawers.
  2. Jury duty sucks!! make sure you save the receipt you get saying you satisfied your duty, as it is good for 7 years. Although you can get called for county service or another level of court. They say jury duty is randomly picked from voters registration but i seem to get called every 7 years almost to date!
  3. TF they do an annual venison dinner? I've been to the one at the Como didn't know about Salvatore's. If it's open to the public let me know maybe Lawd and I will join you next year?
  4. I lost (stolen) my wallet while playing hockey years ago. In it was credit cards , money, family pictures, drivers license, and registrations. PITA dealing with credit cards as I didn't remember how many I had so I called and cancelled every card I could think of. Two years ago I lost my I-phone, left it on the Taunau cover after hunting til dark and drove off, never found it and had to replace it plus lost all my contact info!
  5. I don't know but you are welcome to try it.
  6. This might sound strange but, I am accumulating lots of saw dust from my woodworking lately and i hate to just throw it out. Does anyone know someone who could use it for their animals? I remember a pig farmer used to stop at the nearby wood shop and pick up all the saw dust for bedding. Unfortunately the wood shop is no longer there. (Rip Dave) PM me, thanks
  7. So sorry for your loss, I can't remember a time that Jenny didn't greet me when I would stop over. She always impressed me with her obedience.
  8. I started to build a new coffee table and 2 end tables for our living room. My wife has been very patient as she asked me if I could build them years ago! Every time I start a new bow rack or beard board I get reminded. They still need lots of work like drawers and bottom shelf, but I've got lots of time and my shop is heated.
  9. Made some bites with wild turkey , Jalapeno cream cheese, and bacon. A little variation on Turkeyfeathers venison bites. They turned out great!!
  10. I have a family reunion picnic at Sampson State park last weekend in July anyone interested in cracking a few cold ones that weekend? I'll be camping there for 4 days. Also, I'm all for trying to set up a regional meet and greet. Lawd, TF, and Real TC we should meet for Berbere wings and start the planning!
  11. I have a NWTF banquet this Saturday at Banchetti's on N french rd in Amherst, short notice but for the local guys it's close.
  12. Looks great... nice story!
  13. My own concoction of Mac n cheese with layers of pulled pork and FF onions!
  14. I got 2 boards together, need several more coats of polyurethane. I have to admit I transferred the image to the board and only had to copy it with the wood burner. Still takes patience!
  15. 1st practice try. Tomorrow I am going to try it on the real piece. I'll post a pic of the finished product in a few days.
  16. That sounds great but if you think you could use it, you should keep it. I'm sure i I can find wheels it's early. i have all summer to get this done.
  17. this looks like it may become a community project! I love all the ideas, but I have 2 different ladder stands so I plan to make it universal so it will fit both stands. There is about 2" difference in width between the stands.
  18. Went to Sabre's game yesterday afternoon followed by Buffalo Dinosauer BBQ. Probably should have posted this in beer forum?
  19. Was thinking this should be posted in hunting gear reviews, but after dragging 2 ladder stands out of the woods I've been thinking of trying to gerry rig a couple of 20" bicycle wheels to a shaft that I can fasten to my ladder stand so I can wheel it out of the woods. I don't know if anyone has tried this but I got the idea when I saw a link that added wheels to the Summit climber and made it into a deer cart! As soon as I can garbage pick a couple of wheels I'll post my progress.
  20. Not for me, my feet freeze sitting in those cold damp mornings. I got them extra large so I can wear 2 pr of socks. My old boots were 600 gr thinsulate so I don't think these will be much different. The rubber boots make my feet sweat and once they are wet it doesn't matter how warm it is I get cold feet. I believe there is a direct connection between how comfortable I am and how long I can wait out a stubborn gobbler!
  21. Went to Gander Mtn last night and picked up a pair of 600 gr thinsulate camo boots for next spring's turkey season for $41. My old one's are torn and leak so I hope these will be a good replacement. Guaranteed 100% waterproof for 1 year. We'll see....
  22. sounds good but time will tell. Let's see who he brings in for offensive co-od. etc. and if he has real control over the roster. a lot can change or it's just another dog and pony show!
