  1. Did another batch of snack sticks with cheese yesterday. Sorry no pics. Turned out great, shrink wrapped and put in the freezer for another day. I saved a baggie full of the cut off ends to nibble on with a cold one after work.
  2. Sorry to hear this, prayers for sure for all.
  3. Not trying to derail this thread but yesterday I drove by the Town of Amherst recreation center at Clearfield and I noticed archery targets set up and a class shooting! I was surprised as Amherst is the last town I expected to see this! Found this link on the net. http://buffalonews.com/2017/05/15/amherst-recreation-summer-program-guide-now-available/
  4. No pics but I tried some chicken legs and thighs in my smoker tonight. (1st time for me) Dry rubbed over night and smoked for about 4 hours, got them up to 160* and smothered them in Dino BBQ sauce turned up the heat and got them to a nice crisp on the outside. I'm going to make pulled chicken sammys for dinner tomorrow.
  5. Great! it's in the freezer, saving it for a party in July when Katie comes home with her boyfriend.
  6. First time trying bacon, cheddar stuffed burgers. Saw these at Wegmans the other day and had to make some.
  7. Trying out my father's day gift from my daughter, should be great for out on the boat and around the fire!
  8. The Dead Sled, deer drag. It's a plastic rolled up sled comes in a nice shoulder carry bag. The first time I used it the straps broke and the deer kept sliding off of it. PITA! So I fixed the straps and re read the instructions, turns out I was at fault as I didn't properly tie the deer into it. I gave it another try and it kept rolling over and getting caught on brush, It sits on a shelf in the garage, I should just toss it in the garbage. A close second would be my Amerstep Big House blind, the white metal connectors that hold the pole to the hubs break every time I put it up and take it down. I bought replacements and now carry spares, but it sucks having to fix at least 1 every time I use it. Last turkey season I just put it up and left it all season just cause I didn't want to deal with it breaking again. Fortunately it was private land so I felt safe leaving it.
  9. I'd go to one of those shoots, need an excuse to get out my bow and shoot. Probably talk Lawd into it also. If we include a stop at the Goat on the way home we might even get Turkeyfeathers to start shooting!
  10. I finally had 2 minutes of spare time so I went out and pulled my cards and replaced batteries. Man was I glad to see these guys made it through! I don't think i ever had the 2nd one on camera before.
  11. Congratulation! Best Father's Day Gift ever!
  12. TF, I looked at several different brands before I choose the Primos. A friend has one made by Allen and it has 1 piece poles and rolls up into a shoulder bag, about 3" x 30". But it looks like they have changed there product to 2 pc poles. Most of the ones I found have 2 pc shock corded poles, I didn't want to have to deal with the opening and closing of the poles each time I put it up and took it down. That's why I went with the Primos it has adjustable poles.
  13. Tack, when in Baltimore you have to have a Natty Bo. !! Just make sure it's really cold!
  14. I just ordered a Primos up and down ground blind. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Primos-reg-Up-N-Down-Telescopic-Blind/1584200.uts Does any one use one or a similar blind? I bought it for spring turkey hunting, thought it would be great for a quick set up. But I'm thinking of trying it during deer season to set up in areas where I don't have a tree stand and wanted to just sit out an evening. I have one of those hammock type seats to use with it so it should be a very comfortable sit, my only concern is will the blind be high enough when not sitting directly on the ground. I'll post when I get a chance to set it up and try to shoot my bow from that position.
  15. TF, I'll smoke them for at least 6-8 hours and then I place them in my electric roaster set at 225 until they get to 190 deg. Then my wife usually pulls them and removes any extra fat. She is really fussy about fatty pork. We save some of the juice and mix it back into the final product. This makes some of the best pulled pork I've ever had. And yes the house does smell great for several days. Each to his own but that's the way we get er done!
  16. At Rochester Dino having Wango Tango wings and a seasonal Genesee Ale.
  17. 2 pork butts ready for the smoker. I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow perfect day to fire up the smoker!
  18. West Falls, I bet Lawd and I could be talked into a walk on shoot if they have any open shoots.
  19. I finally finished the 2 end tables and the coffee table. Now I need a helping hand to carry the coffee table into the house.
  20. Went to Eville for lunch, stopped at the Gin Mill.
  21. Good for you and your daughter! But did I miss something? What club are we talking about?
  22. Consumers had these buy 1 get 1 free 6 packs. Had to give them a try, not bad!
  23. I've picked up all kinds of tools. Most recently I grabbed a brand new 2" ratchet strap. My wife always teases me every time we see a bunjee cord laying on the side of the road. I used to pick them up "you can never have enough bunjee cords" Now i tell her that ratchet straps are much better! Picked up building materials, made my corn hole boards completely out of curbside plywood. I've grabbed lawn furniture for my buddy's camp. Basically if it looks worth the stop I'll grab it. Last week I was pulling over to grab some tools spilled on the street, only to get beat to it by someone who just stopped right in the middle of the road and got out and scarfed them up.
  24. I went back to Little Valley drove through a t -storm last night on way down and was woke up this morning at 3 by another t -storm. I heard 1 gobble at 5:15 way to west on neighbors property. So I sat it out in the blind on a field that they frequent. Had a hen show up at 6:30 another at 7. they stayed for over an hour not any gobbling to be heard. Sat right till noon, nothing. Today was going to be my last day but I may just call in tomorrow, WTH I gotta at least work 1.
