The Smoking Pig in San Jose, trying a local brew.
-
When in Rome... Had to give this a try. Not bad strong hoppy after taste. Brewed in Las Angeles.

I know I go through this every year, bow is professionally tuned, walk back tuning, papershot, etc. I get sited in with field points and when I start shooting BHs they are always off. I end up adjusting sites for BHs and leave it alone. Till now when I'm shooting FPs again. It has to be my form cause this is the 3rd bow I've had the same issues with. I also notice that my arrows seen to hit the targets canted to the right, I think it's not set up right but I take it to Roy at Nick's and he swears it's perfect? It's got to be me?
-
Ok, I'm in! First shot at 20 yds. I'll admit I was aiming for the center dot, my bow is set up for broadheads. No matter what I do tuning it , I always shoot field points and broadheads differently? I know it's probably my form as I have had it tuned and papershot. I bet if I shot a broadheads it would be right on!

Looks like you won't even have to climb the tree to take down that stand! Did you get hit by a tornado? how much other damage did you get? May have to build a ground blind for the orchard!

Wood working project
2012_taco replied to 2012_taco's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
Threw together a quick beard board and a bow rack for a local fundraiser. I just love the way a piece of cherry looks once you varnish it! I wood burned the turkey and the deer. -
Ok, I need to start shooting!!! I shot just the other day in my shop, 18 ft. just to pull the bow back. I need to get outside and shoot distance. I'm going to be in So Cal for next 2 weeks and when I get home it's going to be get some stands up asap! I'll miss my favorite open shoot at Hawkeye on Labor day. Larry can we get together and do some practice shooting? We could meet at my brothers after work? Wow where did the summer go?

Got it planted last Monday, went back today to put up a camera and the clover is coming up, didn't see any sign of the turnips yet.

Lawd, I don't know anything about that gun, but my rem 700 would love to throw some of your extra shells through it! -
Well I went out and tilled the plot with the rototiller and it was real wet. But the tiller turned it up pretty good so I'm hoping that between the wind and the sun over the next couple of days it should dry enough so I can get it planted Monday after work. I'll probably add some powdered lime at the same time, it shouldn't hurt? I'll post some pics when I get it planted. After I finished with the tiller I switched to the brush hog and finished up mowing lanes. I got the tractor stuck when I straddled a large log I didn't see until I was on top of it. Had to walk back to my truck, get a chain saw and cut it out. No biggie just a pita!

I've started prep for a new food plot, (see need a york rake blog) and I have access to the tractor this weekend only. I am afraid it is going to be too wet to work it? We have had a lot of rain lately and it came fast and heavy. The ground is really wet! I'm going to give it a try but I am afraid I'm just wasting my time. If I don't do anything now I won't be able to get back at it until at least September 16, will that be too late to put in a mix of turnip/radish and clover?

Happy Birthday Larry! Hope you have a great day! I have both bikes on the road if you want to go out for a ride later. Otherwise I imagine you will have a Bourbon and a fat stogie after b-cake. ENJOY!! -

It's actually black cherry, once I get some better pics to post the color will show. -
I'm going to sell my motorcycle. I will post some pics but I just wanted to get it out there. It's a '03 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 cc, 59k miles, brand new tires, battery, It has a Mustang seat. It's set up as a solo ride with custom back rest right now but I do have the matching passenger seat, sissy bar and luggage rack. asking $3900.00. I'm located in the Williamsville area. PM me if interested or have any questions. Thanks

I finally got out today and hit the plot with round up, it's still a little wet but the grass is coming back quick! Probably get back to till it in a couple of weeks.
-
I always get great pics of bucks when the pears start to drop, by hunting season I seldom see any sign of most of them. Although I always see a least 1 nice one during bow usually just out of range!
-
This one should be interesting to see how this rack develops!
-
Gramps is in our prayers. Keep us posted.

I think I may have the same two bucks from earlier this year? The one has the same curved brow tines and the other has a drop tine on the same side of his rack!
-
I ran the brush hog over the area again today and tried to drag the bucket to try to get some of the heavy stuff off. I'll spray it with round up as soon as I can get a couple of days with out rain. It was nice and dry last week when I first cut it but we got a lot of rain since. There's standing water all over today!

I am working on clearing an over grown field to put in a new food plot. I have access to a 4 wd tractor, and I brush cut it but I need to get all the cut waste removed before I hit it with roundup. I have a roto tiller for the tractor but I didn't want to till in all that weed brush. I was hoping to rent/borrow a york rake to drag all the crap off the plot. Does any one in the Clarence/ WNY area have a york rake or know where I can rent one? Last year I did a smaller plot and tried to hand rake the debris of the plot and it was ridiculously difficult! It took me hours and I had blisters for weeks! I'm not doing that again. Thanks for the help/info.
