  1. Perhaps, but the Feds don't have a clue what they're doing either. Its hard for me to envision a scenario where the Feds approve a retail cannabis model that allows the evil "big tobacco" companies to turn a profit. Over regulation and taxation will kill most of the incentives to enter the business. The one exception will probably be the Native American entities that produce and sell tax free cigarettes. They'll find a way to make it work and more than likely strike a deal with the Feds to be a major distributor and retailer of THC products. Some kind of reparation agreement most likely. The example I'll give is when the CBD oil boom was happening. Coke and Pepsi (among others) were furiously lobbying the FDA to classify CBD as a safe and approved food additive. They wanted to add CBD to every beverage they produce. The FDA couldn't make up their minds so a majority of the big name companies put the concept on hold. Typical bureaucratic bs.
  2. Yes. Those who have been convicted of a drug related crime in the past will be given first preference to receive a dispensary license when NYS issues them.
  3. And my apologies but "giving criminals first crack at the license" made made my day lol.
  4. The rationale is to give preference to and give support to, the socially disadvantaged, to help provide more equitable opportunities in the NYS cannabis market etc.
  5. Oh they're adults. They're just touched in the head adults. That live in a reality foriegn to us other adults. Tough and frustrating to try and understand. Playing by their rules is a losing game.
  6. I've been involved in growing hemp in NYS the last couple years. Needless to say it's been a complete sh!t show from the onset. NY State's utter ineptitude and inability to manage the program coupled with the Fed's constant foot dragging and changing regulations totally screwed every farmer I know who got involved. I can't name one person in the business that turned a profit or even broke even. I have associates who've lost six figures in the debacle with one I know personally losing 2 million. Everyone knew the risks going in but the smoke n mirror show that went on with the state management of the program made any chance of success impossible. They all got f'd. Now they've legalized marijuana in NYS. I was against this proposal from day one based on the simple fact I knew the state had no idea how to manage it. The current state proposals are these: NYS marijuana grow licenses will be issued to three different groups. 1/3 to corporate interests for medical marijuana. 1/3 to hemp growers in "good standing with the state" and 1/3 to individuals classified as socially disadvantaged. Here's the kicker lol. Its not hard to grow, but ya gotta have a market to sell it. The current law signed recently designates that those with criminal records for the illegal sale, distribution or possession of narcotics in NYS, those with a misdemeanor or FELONY conviction, will be given first priority and preference when applying for a permit to open a marijuana dispensary. 200 MILLION of NYS money is being designated to address social inequities in the now legal NYS cannabis market. Can't make this up . . . https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/news/2022/03/09/new-yorkers-with-prior-marijuana-convictions-expected-to-get-first-retail-licenses
  7. Bob and his wife live up north. One winter morning while listening to the radio, they hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 4-6 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through" Bob's wife goes out and moves her car. A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 6-8 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." Bob's wife goes out and moves her car again. The next week they are having breakfast again, when the radio announcer says "We are expecting 8-10 inches of snow today. You must park . . ." then the power goes out. Bob's wife is very upset, and with a worried look on her face she says, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the plow can get through?" With the love and understanding in his voice like all men who are married to blondes exhibit, Bob says, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time?"
  8. While driving into the complex yesterday I was accosted by these three hoodlums! As I pulled up the strutter actually ran in front of my car and and tried to start a fight with the chrome grill lol. Then he tried to chase me home! I've watched these guys hanging around the neighborhood the last year or so, there used to be five of them. Was out on my deck one morning this past weekend and heard them gobbling in the woods out back and started laughing. A little early in the year I thought but hey, they're city birds, probably not right in the head lol. No hunting here in the village but suggestions by some "friends" of mine to curb this obnoxious behavior include trying to dart one, an offer to ride in the back seat and hang out the window swinging a big stick, and my personal favorite, an offer to impersonate DEC personnel with a white truck, green coveralls and a couple big nets. I need better friends . . .

  14. Fried potatoes, diced tomatoes and poached cod. My 17yo son's #2 request behind v backstraps.
  15. @Nytracker for the win! X2! Parboiled till tender then dredge, coat and panfry. Smother with brown gravy (sorry) and serve with spuds. Classic. I fed my boys so many squirrel "wings" soaked in Texas Pete's hot sauce back in the day it was silly. Good eats right there!
  16. Don't know much about the National Deer Association but thought it somewhat humorous the DEC got an award for "leadership" lol. Legit or is it akin to a Cuomo Emmy? https://romesentinel.com/stories/state-dec-garners-award-for-deer-management,127434
  17. Fried potatoes. First run in the new Matfer black steel pan received during the holidays. Pork chops n gravy will be up in a few minutes.
  18. Ahhhh nope. I got better things to do with my time, no place to do it and don't need the hassle. Just sayin.
