Very nice Mike, better late then never.

Good Idea John. Even though my quad is 10 years old and has only 700 miles on it, irregardless of my use each year I change the oil every year. This year I used a heavier oil that I had left over from my tractor service and is an oil I will always use in the future as I was told it is much better quality for heavy use.Even though I have low miles those are some tuff 700 miles of hauling tons of wood, deer, equipment etc.....Take care of the ATV and it will take care of you...lol..

What Attracts The Best In Your Area?
NYBowhunter replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Hi John, No new pictures just yet. Will be going up as well in the next week or so. I have one camera overlooking the new turnip plot and clover plot and I moved my bushnell trophyl cam to an apple orchard on my property in a spot where I usually bowhunt. Hopefully I will get some good pictures. Be sure to post pictures of your plots, they sure seem to be coming along nicely from what I have seen so far. -
What Attracts The Best In Your Area?
NYBowhunter replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Im fortunate in that my property has crab apple trees all over it, I'm in my third year of prunning and still have lots of trees to get to. But the dowside is that apple trees dont always produce each year. I'm surrounded by AG, so I have to compete with miles and miles of corn fields, however as much as there are corn fields and as much as everything is green now my clover and chickory plots are visited daily with most activity close to dusk, but I do get pictures in the plots as well in the morning and midday. I also planted Pasja turnips last fall which is a turnip that is leaf heavy with no turnip and can recover from browsing, that plot got hammered last year. This year I made my fall plot much larger and planted purple top turnips. -
I have the moultrie I40 and after 3 years the LCD screen does not work so I cant tell if batteries are good or how many pictures are on the card, however the camera still takes pictures. Apparently this is a common problem when I called the company I bought it from. I also have the bushnell trail cam that is a great tiny camera, had it for a yr. so far and pictures are great, battery life is excellent, did I say TINY, easy to setup, great trigger speed. If I were to buy another it would be another bushnell and they also have the option to take 3 or 5 MP pictures.

Deer and Turnip plot pictures from trail cam
NYBowhunter replied to NYBowhunter's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
I planted Pasja Turnips and Broccolli Rabe last fall and they got devoured, they never got a chance to grow. This year I had to make the plot much larger. Hopefully they like the purple tops the same. -
Just had a little racoon on my porch here in brooklyn, he knocked over a couple of plants, dirt all over the place. I always have coon paw prints around the edge of the pool and they love to shred through the garbage, what is a man to do....what a pain. We also have lots of possum as well. Go figure rarely see them upstate only to find them on my porch in brooklyn.

Does anyone know where I can pick up a used 2 or 3 row corn planter in Deleware or Otsego counties. I would like to try corn for next May. Thanks
-
Those so some pretty impressive bucks.

Thanks, yeah the kids are too cute....have to agree the tractor keeps on impressing me, its a true workhorse....I have done so much with that tractor, just makes alot of jobs easier and have done alot of things around the property that I couldnt do in the past.
-
Dont know the name, but yeah its very cool. Its like a mini version of my quad. It is small but has lots of engine for its size, believe it or not that thing has 110cc displacement, but thankfully it has a rev limiter and a remote cut off. Wish I had that when I was a kid. My 9 year old is outgrowing it, but still great for my other three.

Its pretty obvious in the pic that they are not driving the ATV. Nice pics NYBowhunter Thanks, the littlke ones are happy just sitting on it.
-
Thanks, but I'm not worried about the grief. Both of the little ones dont ride, only my two older boys and one at a time and always with a helmet.

Turnip / Broccoli Rabe food plot update
NYBowhunter replied to NYBowhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Figured I would start early like 8am to beat the heat, it figures I picked the hottest day of the year. Even starting that early I was sweating bullets while picking up the rocks, Thank God my father drove the tractor and all I had to do was toss them in the bucket. But after the 2nd loader full and the heat I was getting tired. Well I got r' done. Lets just hope now. -
