  1. Yep, Melissa Bachman actually showed them at the ATA show last year I think it was, but they have been around in one form or another for longer. Great for hogs.
  2. He would score as my biggest buck ever, and a deer of a lifetime for me. OK mid150's and about 4 perhaps 5 yrs old.
  3. False, I work outside and it's gonna be single digit's overnight tomorrow. Next poster wishes deer season was longer.
  4. True, Clint Eastwood is my favorite. The next poster didn't take a shot this season and is sorry he didn't.
  5. I took my public land stands down Right before the storm came through, I will leave my private stands up till I get one more deer, either a big buck or a fat, mature doe. NJ season goes till Feb.
  6. I have a yellow left hand Genesis, great bow to get the young ones into shooting. It's in great shape, I have to look for the rest ( $9.99 ) but I will include a Cooper John Battle Axe 3 pin fiber optic sight. Prefer pickup, I am in Queens, if mailed you need to pay for shipping, at $100.00 I feel it is a fair deal.
  7. Bronco's- 1st was a 1982 4 on the floor and the next was a 1991 5 on the floor, low gear with low 4 wheel drive that truck could climb up the side of a building, spent many years hunting, snowshoeing, camping, hiking and fishing with those trucks. The gas prices and then married with children made it little used and sold it.
  8. True. Next poster made venison sausage this past season.
  9. I work a lot of hours, not to hard to motivate myself when the opportunity presents itself. I only sit for for 3 hrs tops at a time and my 3 spots are all within 10 minutes drive with deer running all over at least one of them at a given time, just need to pick the right spot at that time. Also sometimes just small doe are shootable but I pass on them, I had four small bucks, the biggest being a six, and passed on them and hopefully they will be there next season. Fun watching deer and being out in my stand, I work in NYC all week and like the time spent in the woods.
  10. Got another the other day before the big storm, long season in NJ takes the pressure off me " having to get one" when I don't have time. And when I do I enjoy my time bowhunting. Good eating size .
  11. Great splicing job, my kind of colors, I use them as well. They are my John Deere arrows and a string to match.
  12. This video has been around awhile, I remember seeing it and thinking he probably dropped his rifle and the scope shifted. I also remember thinking he should just throw the rifle at the deer, he might at least give it a concussion.
  13. I just picked up some blunts or "thumpers" on ebay, have yet to try them but I'm sure they will achieve great results.
  14. It has certainly changed and become a celebrity thing, everyone has to kill a monster to be a 'REAL' hunter. Whatever happened to enjoying the woods with family. And what's with all the thievery going on? When did we start stealing each others stuff? I know cameras were not around years ago but stands and stuff are not safe and I have to lock mine nowadays. I try not to get all gloom & doom about hunting, I like the public spots I have although getting 'em back outta there is getting a lot harder as I get older. Dragging them is a real chore.
  15. That is one elaborate and expensive production number about nothing, catchy tune though.
  16. Ice is on lake right now but the warm weather is making everything hard, it's like spring thaw with mud everywhere.
  17. Kids stay free right now, one night is all I can afford, it's for my wife who put's up with three males all year long, hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, mud and dirty clothes. We are having a formal dinner tonight, our first with our now 10 yr old boys. Let's see how that goes.
  18. More pics of frozen/thawing lake. View from our room.
  19. Some cool pics of lake with house in background.
  20. Well the 13" of snow that was here a few days ago is completely gone, it's so warm that even the ice skating rink is closed. We planed on cross country skiing, skating and snow tubing although it sure is a beautiful place and hiking seems to be the thing to do with this weather, we saw quite a few deer on todays hike.
  21. What about the stage where you want to pass on some of the knowledge you have gotten over the years and teach someone. That should be in there somewhere, although I agree with phade about enjoying more than stage, I've been doing bowhunting only for a looong time now and still enjoy all but the old fart stage.
  22. I live in NYC, but only durring the week, can you find WALDO in NYC????
  23. I saw a pic of a NY mountain lion, I know for a positive fact because it was taken by my sister's friend's boyfriend's uncle's daughter's nephew and he is very honest … I think!
