Mathew's Halon 32, set at 58.6 lbs. (50-60 range), Yes that is a Montana Black Gold Rush site, awesome!!! Thanks guys, really going to love this new bow a lot!!!
-
Thanks for the helpful tip. Just curious, where do you pick that up from?
-
Sorry to hear he passed. Seems like most of the actors, etc. from our generation are all passing away!!
-
Just got home from S&S Archery shop with my new bow. Love it already!!!
-
Only reason I chose the 32" was it would be a little less arrow pinch due to the lesser angle at full draw. Also my last bow was the same size, so I am familiar with that length. Yes, the bow weight of 60# would be 50-60 range. At 62 years old decided to drop down a few pounds in bow drawing weight. Going from 67-68lbs. down to 60lbs. Will be a little easier to draw back smoothly.

Hats off to you for using traditional equipment!!!

Last bow was 60-70lbs. This one I dropped down in weight to a 50-60lb.

Guessing by the time I am done, $1300.00

S&S Archery Pro Shop out in Springville, NY had a one day sale Saturday from 9am till 5pm. Most bow companies were there and you got to try several bows at their range. Being a Mathew's owner for many years now, I wanted to try out their new bow for 2017, the Halon, specifically. Long story short, I loved the bow and put a deposit down and it will be delivered in about 2 1/2 weeks. This bow comes in a 5", 6" or a 7" brace height. I elected to get the 6" version. They also make the Halon in a 30" or a 32"ATA, but decided on the 32" instead. Now along with the new bow, a new rest, arrows, site and quiver, this will surely cost me a shiny nickel or two!!! Was seriously thinking about up-grading after 12 years with my Mathews Switchback model, so it was time. And besides they offered $100.00 off!!! All excited about this coming season now!!!

Thanks for your compliments on my beard displays guys!!! I have a post in the "non hunting items for sale" section that shows more pic's along with prices.

All depends on your gun, what shells and choke, Then it all depends what your pattern looks like at the pattern range. Only way to tell for sure what your guns best distance is pattern wise.

Check out the Mossy Oak Elite III. Comes with 19 zippered pockets, like this vest so much I ended getting a second one in the new Obsession Camo to match the rest of my camo clothes!!!

Happy Belated B-Day Danno!!

Scott Little Goose, bought two of them, just incase one ever fails while up in my tree stand. Nothing like having a backup right in your backpack!!!
-
Your right, S&S wasn't there this year? BUT!!!! I did get to meet this hot Brunette!!!!
-
Intend to stop and BS with him again this year as well!!!
-
Me and my neighbor will try to get there this afternoon, will keep an eye out for your hat!!! LOL

Feel for you guys that still are without power. Lost my power yesterday afternoon for about 15 seconds, then it came back on. It's those neighborhoods with a lot of old large trees near the power lines.

I plan on heading there to see the show. Not sure what day?

I use a Bungee cord or two to keep the wind from blowing it off!! Works slick!!

I'm all set as far as gear goes. Still want to take off my barrel and scrub it mirror clean, then take it to the range to make sure it is dead on. After that, hope the turkey gods smile down on me this spring, since last year was a brutal season.

I have over 20 Turkey hunting VHS tapes that I can't use anymore since my VHS deck crapped out. All are in mint condition. So my question is what to do with them now? I see where you can get them converted over to the DVD format but it costs $15.00 for each one. Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions to do with them?

I had a cheapo Value model for the last few years now and it's time for a new one as well. Getting a Weber, either the E210 or the E310? This should serve me very well for the long haul

Went to Dick's and Cabela's today to check first hand on the new crop of decoys out on the market. Well long story short, I prefer my old Feather-Flex ones over the newer Avian, DVD, or the ones put out by Primos or H.S. Strut. Those newer ones are MUCH more heavier and do not fold. With a loaded vest, your gun, and a turkey chair slung over your shoulders, these newer decoys will really weigh you down!!! In the look's department they are awesome, but the price and weight aren't!!! Ended up getting another foam hen decoy from Cabela's for less than $10.00 to add to my flock, since they don't make the Feather-Flex brand anymore. Just a heads up.
