Text book hunt in the books!! First time in quite a while I scored on opening day!!! Time of shot, 6:20am, approx. distance 35-40 yards. Heard two sound off quite a distance away, but couldn't hunt that piece of land. Got closer, set up and started calling. Two gobblers came in after about 15-20 minutes, took the strutter in back!!! 21 lbs., 8" beard, 3/4" spurs. One down, one more to go!!!

Decline in hunters and paying for conservation

Youngsters aren't into hunting, due to the fact their parents don't hunt. They are more into computer games, cell phones, TV etc. Then you have older guys getting out of the sport. Without any new young hunters coming in and older guys leaving there is the issue. Another sad fact is their are many more guys getting older than youngsters coming in, and I can see how that will pan out in the end. Very sad indeed. -

It's more for the turkey hunters out there. Just like they have a separate catalog for camping, auto's, bow hunting, cabin/cottage. shooting. Just think if they came out with only one catalog!!! it would be about 6" thick!!

Looking for advice. Mid size v full size truck??

Went from a 2009 Silverado to a 2016 Tacoma crew cab TRD Sport. I never really needed a full size truck, don't pull a trailer or haul a lot of stuff around. The Tacoma fits my lifestyle much better. I get 23-24 mpg on the thruway even doing 70 mph. The best I could get with the 4 speed Silverado was 17 mpg. Only issue I have is the dang price......you can buy a full size for what they are getting for a new Tacoma!!! -

When using a hang on stand, it's anywhere from 15 to 18 ft. to the platform. When using my Summit climber, I usually end up going higher to around 20-25ft.
