Does anyone here wrap their own arrows? Pros/cons of doing? Would like some valuable input from anyone. I have seen many videos and I am sure I can do it, with some practice trial/error. Does it do anything to the weight/flight etc? Thanks, I look forward to everyone's opinion.

My son, Alex a freshman at SUNY Delhi, has been going out every morning after class, and this past weekend and opening day with me, bad weather had them fairly quiet the times we were tother ( only heard1 gobble in 3 days). This morning he finally got the opportunity to shoot a nice bird 19 lbs 9" beard and almost 3/4" spurs. I am proud of his dedication to getting out in the woods and also how well he's doing in school. I am a bit jealous I was unable to be there and share the hunt, but someone has to pay for tuition. The day gets better, upon leaving the woods he sees a man drowning in the creek, and he jumps in and pulls the unconscious gentleman out as the police are arriving. The man was transported to the hospital and Alex said he should be ok. Proud of you son, you're my hero! !

One of the opposed , Richard Brummel lives in my town. He's an absolute nut job- no pun intended. He tried to block the demolition of old and construction of our new firehouse several years ago. One of his claims was that a new firehouse would make the fire department a 24/7/365 operation. Seriously ? He also shows up at town hall meetings to protest the trimming of trees, road kill and other bizzare things that are on his silly agenda . He's always good for a laugh and oftentimes is thrown out due to his ridiculous behavior and refusal to follow the rules of the meeting . I find it funny that his stupidity knows no boundaries

venison kielbasa and saurkraut... grilled the kielbasa toasted the bread, and inhaled it. Washed down with a nice cold Blue Point Toasted lager. I rarely take pics of my dinner, too busy eating it, next time I will

Picked this up last month and just getting around to posting. We are both beyond pleased at the skill and care that was used to make this memory come full circle. On a sad note..., I received word that the taxidermist passed away suddenly last week. I am so happy my son and I had the chance to meet and speak with him when we picked it up. May he rest in peace and thanks for an awesome job!

found these on LI, last Saturday (2 diff deer), both were within 20 yds of each other, one on left has nice mass. If symmetrical they were both 8 pointers. Was not specifically shed hunting, but happy to find nonetheless.

Went to the show on Sat and attended a seminar given by Chef Albert Wutsch. He is an avid hunter certified Chef and super nice guy. It was an hour well spent, not only did he make some tasty treats to hand out, he gave so many good examples of how to cook certain cuts of venison as well as other wild game. I bought his 2 books The Art of cooking venison, and the art of barbecuing and grilling game plus the art of backyard butchering DVD for a show special of $32. Money well spent as I love to cook and many of these recipes can be interchanged with store bought meat when you finish all your venison for the year.

I hear ya Fletch fortunately the free cable still applies but the insurance is the killer

So after 28 years with cablevision ( Long Island), my wife received a request to " retire voluntarily" . Hundreds of others did too, thanks to the new owners who hail from France and no longer view loyalty and longevity a quality they want in their employees. They want young people whom they don't have to pay the top dollar to ( not that my wife was doing 6 figures, but still made decent $) The biggest bonus was the medical/dental/vision which was top notch and very inexpensive. On a positive note she's being given 3 weeks for every year of service which adds up to 84 weeks, and it will give her time to find a new job, but at the age of 50 it won't be that easy. If your age and years to the company> 70 you have a choice to take it or not to but if u don't they can't guarantee you'll keep you job, so, in other words take it.... I now have to get insurance thru my company which is +/- 150 employees and will cost me a good chunk of my check, but have no choice. She will work thru the end of Feb, but F -you to the new owners for putting a damper on the Christmas spirit and doing this to all the faithful employees who worked there for the better part of their lives. In any case, I hope everyone here has a merry Christmas, happy healthy new year, happy Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate with family and loved ones be safe and enjoy I hope 2017 continues to bring everyone outdoors to continue to hunt fish and enjoy themselves

Really simple - use the square brownie tin ( 12 separate slots) I have the re-usable metal one put some non stick cooking spray in each . scramble the eggs and pour into each slot put your venison sausage in each bake 15-20 mins. Put your favorite shredded cheese on top and let melt. Lasts for a few days in fridge. My daughter has for bkfst few times a week . Enjoy!!!
