Well since you wanted to take it down this road. I will drop him a message on Facebook and let him know how pissed off your mother is that he left out her profession.
-
Oh, he needed to list every possible sin to make his point clear to you? He isn't judging. based on his second quote, He probably should ask for a refund for that MBA he has since you can't read.

Getting new skins for the truck

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.” “We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?”

Stopped the quote a bit short to understand the full context don't you think?
-
You don't get what he was saying do you? He was saying THEY were white trash
-
Always easier to take another's spin on it rather than research for yourself...huh?

HIAS ACTUAL QUOTES Phil on Sin “It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.” What, in your mind, is sinful? We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?” Phil On Growing Up in Pre-Civil-Rights-Era Louisiana “I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field.... They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!... Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”

How about actually reading the GQ article
-
You understand nothing if you haven't read the article and frankly are talking out your a$$

And I think it is really fueled ad fanned to a flame by the ones that profit from that divide continuing. When My great uncle came here from Italy he didn't get an option to "press" (dial really lol) for Italian. I am very close friends with two Vietnamese families that that we sponsored and helped to come over in the early 90's They couldn't speak a work of English. Never were on any form of Public assistance. Worked they asses off and brought two boys with them and had two girls while they were here. They own a beautiful house that they paid cash for. Own 4 rental properties. Put all 4 of their kids through college. 2 doctors, one pharmacist and an Engineer. They all learned to speak English and it was mandatory to even speak it in their home, even when company wasn't present. They lived in the City of Utica in a pretty bad section to start. They contribute, are respected and became citizens as soon as they could. That is how it is supposed to work and their attitude was the key, not the attitudes of anyone around them. Just my experience and opinion for what it's worth

If you want to quote history let's not be quite so selective. What you described has happened to every immigrant group coming to America in the past. (aside from the cooking cat thing I think...lol) What I will say (Generally) is in the past there was a greater desire to assimilate into the US culture. The modern approach is the US culture needs to accommodate the immigrants.

I looked out the window quickly looking for the big freeze over....lol. No actually there is more stuff than you might think that we share some common ground on. Just deferring degrees of passion on some of them.

So fire me
-
Can't take credit. Saw it posted elsewhere and it made me chuckle.

For all the lefties out there I am going to let you in on an idea since it seems there will be some open time slots on A&E to fill in when the Robertson family walks. Pitch a show of homosexuals that open a shop and work making vibrators and you can call it Dick Dynasty.

and both deal with our relationship to the Government and NOT a private company. For example you can be arrested for yelling fire in a crowded theater.

NY DEC: Wild Boars No Longer "Fair Game"
Culvercreek hunt club replied to burmjohn's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
Pigs and coyotes. Same plight and I will address in the same manner. -
Bummer. Thanks
-
Have any of your guys that keep saying his Constitutional rights have been violated actually read the 1st amendment? Do you understand it is a limiting factor on GOVERNEMNT and not private companies? And Mod's WTF is up with not being able to past into this window anymore? Is is just me or is anyone else having the issue?
-
I will say though that I would bet Phil has a decent grounds for a lawsuit. A&E knew of his beliefs, knew he was actually a preacher. Why fire him now? I would bet the views he expressed in the article are no different than he has in his preaching. If they chose to fire him now and didn't before, or at least put him on notice before there is a legal issue there.
-
You hit it right on the head Virgil.
-
I know you and I have gone down the whole street before but I do have to agree that A&E had a right to do what they did (until I see anything in their contracts to suggest otherwise). I understand you disdain for religion but they are his beliefs. Did you actually read the article that started all of this?
