Rage 2 blade vs Grim Reaper 3 blade
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Guns&ReligionCop's topic in Bow Hunting
But I can carry some#6 shot to shoot squirrels while I am deer hunting with the shotgun. I won't be shooting squirrels with my arrows. Too expensive. A over 45 an arrow I won't use my deer arrows on a turkey. Keep a different one for those. -

Yet you can carry a 22 to shoot squirrels while deer hunting with a shotgun or rifle. -

NO and NO. and there are specific regulation stating those. If the law is silent it does not make it a law. If it is bothering you so much just drop your DEC Region office an email. They will clear it up for you. -
Raw Venison and Apples together?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Meat Hunter's topic in Deer Processing
Apples actually have a great deal of natural yeasts on and in them. It is what causes the fermentation process. They can be airborne but i have no idea the effect on the meat. -

So you are asking for a written law that says something is LEGAL? NY doesn't have suck a regulation against it and if you don't feel you can keep it straight it may be unethical for you. If someone has more onthe ball it is probably fine for them. You can turkey hunt with a bow and that head construction is different. You can even carry a .22 pistol while deer hunting with a rifle or shotgun so you could shoot small game if you wish. But I wouldn't suggest that to you either since in the excitement you may goof up and shooot the deer with the 22. -
Come on out. I have more than enough already tied up to the trees.

Wow, Did you call the authorities?

$5,500 new wheeler in 2003. Put 2 100 mile rides on it in PA and the Snirt Run up north. It has 486 miles on it. That works out to $11.31 a mile. and worth every penny to avoid dragging a deer. I haven't dragged one since 2003 and with my sciatic problems this season I actually am gettign fond of the 150 yard walks to the stand....LOL

I think the best advice I have seen here is take the first doe you see. Get one under your belt before that targeted deer shows up. Are you just going after the targeted deer or are you shooting does as well? couldn't tell from your post. Somthing that I fall short on is practicing during the season. I always intend to but I never seem to make it work out. Ithink even if you just get and arrow or two a day it would help.

You are pretty young, might want to see a Dr. about that.

We usually have a nice big dinner at camp the night before the opener. If I have been lucky during bow season it included grilled backstrap. It never fails as I stand in front of the grill I few shots just before dark. not 'a few' like in a last minute sight in job but as in one here and another there thype. Talk about early shots.

Hangun*--any centerfire pistol or revolver. Barrel length maximum is 16 inches (NOTE: Possession of handguns in New York State requires a NYS Pistol Permit. New York does not recognize permits issued by other states.) * It is illegal to hunt with: a fully automatic firearm; an autoloading firearm that holds more than 6 shells (except an autoloading pistol with a barrel length under 8 inches); any firearm equipped with a silencer. -

I don't think there is any minimum barrel lengths for revolvers. -
Duck hunting I have seen this before too.

Just a hot water bath canner? for meat? The temps can't get high enough to kill all the little critters running around in there. At 10psi the temp inthe canner is around 235. You can't get over 211 in a water bath. I have also heard of of guys doing them on a cookie sheet inthe oven and canning applesauce by just pouring the boiling sauce in and putting the covers on without boiling. To me when you are dealing with stuff that can really mess you up like canning and reloading, I will error onthe side of the book. lol. Not a fan of bowing to the porcelin god

You gotta get out an hunt with real bird dogs. A flusher such as a lab and English Springers do not just trot around the fields and woods and stumble across game. Watch a flusher take a trail and have it end 100 yards away with a bird going up. I used to take my Springer out with my Uncles hound to start snowshoes. the hound couldn't seem to start a cold one but eh Springer could. Watch a Lab take a wounded duck trail up onto land and follow it through the brush. My point is we have breed characteristics that we wanted into them and TRY to breed the ones in them we don't want out of them. At the root of it all, they have wild roots and there are many out there are just a stones throw away form letting them out. Any breed could attack given the right conditions. Belo....you weren't raised around those ankle biter cats that are disguised as dogs, were you?

Ever notice how right after that first shot there are others? Kind of like "oh hell he did it!"

Clifton Park - Shotgun Only???
Culvercreek hunt club replied to jbitter001's topic in General Hunting
better re read that. Reads to me like not center fire rifles in Clifton park at all. 22 rim fire to the west but only if you own land or are with the land owner. been a long time since I drove he roads in that area. I m not sure if there is an area not included by those two descriptions but if you read all the info onthe link it appears Clifton Park is shotgun only (or pistol)
