  1. There are laws about election signs and how soon after the election they must be removed or the person on the sign can be fined. Funny the cops aren't out policing this? I see a ton of them left out waaaay after elections. And Phade is 110% correct. They make GREAT target stands. Especially the Liberal candidate ones.
  2. Stuffer is the only way to go. It is much easier to keep the air out of the casings and control the flow.
  3. I am with ya. I am very very spoiled where I hunt now compared to growing up. I hunted seasons and never saw a buck and didn't have a doe tag. I had not gotten into bow hunting then becasue my father wasn't bow hunting. if it had one 3" horn it hit the dirt. I have a big BOX full of those. I have spent seasons up north in 5H on the property I can hunt and not seen a deer. Another no doe permit area. I can't see telling a hunter in to keep paying the license fee and by the way you arent going to see anything to shoot.
  4. I agree with you Steve. Should not be PUSHED on those that have no interest. But let me ask you this. If you had access to a property to hunt where about 30% of the bucks you saw would be over 1.5 years old, would you shoot that 1.5 year old as soon as it walked by? (I am not talking racks size I am talking older deer).
  5. Then a citation should have been issued. this action is stealing as well as criminal trespass.
  6. Seems like there are a few options you can take to improve you possibilities of seeing a mature buck. Both of which don't IMPOSE a person view on others. Improve the land you have to attract and hold deer, put in some effort to better educate the surrounding landowners or find some other property to hunt too.
  7. They will lose me and my support if they do.
  8. Hoyt Carbon Element. 60# Full Metal Jacket arrows tippes with Montec G5 single pin adjustable site
  9. What areas of the state do you huint in? Are there doe tags there?
  10. Well who ever they were if they said the primary goal of QDM is for bigger racks, they don't know their A$$ from their elbow. When all the other components are implement correctly and the results show, that MAY be a benefit.
  11. Is that a trick question? how many children do you need to grow adults?
  12. I would take a look at teh QDMA website. It still seems like you aren't understanding it or the difference. Also an AR really won't deal with anything to cause a population increase over a quick bubble becasue of limiting 1.5 year old buck harvest. substantial and long term population increases can only take place by increasing the Doe population. This can happen by limiting their take. Could be limiting permits, shortening a season, things like that. The only thing the AR's are an attempt to do is allow more bucks to make it through to a more mature age structure.
  13. What are you asking? I don't understand. I don't remember seeing anything about 1 buck 3.5 or older per square mile? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  14. the beans don't even look like they are turning in that field. 1/2 mile down the road theyare all brown. Must be some GMO bean or something...lol
  15. 3 out of 5 in 8" at 25 and they call that good enough to get into one of these programs? That is disgusting. I would rather see them say you get one arrow and if that is in the 8" circle ok. I wouldn't walk into the woods if I was shooting like that. (not about you I am talking about the program qualifications)
  16. What you listed as their "wants" is NOT QDM. And I can't find anything that shows a QDMA branch up their pushing AR's. I can't even find them as a driving force in the AR's that were in place the the A unit that was 2 points on a side. You sure they wer QDMA?
  17. I know not everyoen hunts at the same time but if you look at a square mile as that is 587 yards x 587 yards. That leave a chunk of land to hunt for every NY hunter of 151 yards X 151 yards. Those numbers can't be close. Think of the areas that are taken out of play or seldom see hunting pressure. That would make the other areas even more dense.
  18. The Modern Ml's are better and more capable that any of our eyes in hunting situations. I use a scope. Iron sights on the Modern ML's is like having 30$ retread tires on your Vet.
  19. What is a Pope and Young State? Last time I checked NY had several entries every year. In the last 10 years I have seen bucks that would make the book every year, just my fault I haven't done my job to get close enough.
  20. He is in the NW area of the county and own land boradering some pretty large sections of state land. Might have to give it a whirl.
  21. All the big guys have evaporated. Probably the last look at groups like this for this year. Now they are out nibbling on weed and rye growth in this field and about 300 yards away was a green soy field. Go figure.
  22. I have started to look at things a bit differently for me. The mind set of "If I let it go it will get shot by someone else" I thik is flawed. NY Antler is very good at these conversations and he an I had several and hit helped cement my views. Every day that 1.5 year old buck lives he gets smarter. Every day he lives he gets better at evading and he becomes a tougher target. He MAY NOT get shot by the guys next door, He MAY get shot by someone else. One thing is certain. If YOU shoot him It takes his chances to zero of making it through. If only one in 10 of the ones we CHOOSE to pass on avoid the gauntlet and make it through that is a 10% return on our efforts and I have seen years that I would be doing cartwheels if my 401k had those results.
