  1. I have an Encore and love it. I use it for multiple uses. ML, 223 rifle, .308 win in a 15" pistol. If you keep you eyes open and check the Encore Classifieds there are very good deals to be had on barrels. What the other guys said is true about almost being able to buy multiple guns for the cost is true. The initial configuration I got was in ML and it was $700. My .223 barrel with a new foreend was $275 used with a scope. My 308 pistol barrel was $280 with a scope and stocks. SO for almost $1,300 I have three guns.
  2. THose "crazy tea party members" are doing just what they said they would do and got elected to do it. As far as these people that took advantage of the glitch. I am sure theur card have the totals of all their purchases. Since I am sure they were just buying things they really needed, just cancel any further payments to them until the benefits they would have gotten equals the total they took. no need to waste further money chasing this. I am sure they hocked the stuff they took for pennies on the dollars anyway so getting anything back is a long shot at best.
  3. This came to me last night. During this last weekend, Sunday, a 15 year old youth was lucky enough to put his tag on the buck of a lifetime. This weekend was his first time hunting deer. 13 scorable points, going to gross in the mid 160's. Bases just shy of 8". Deer was aged at 5-1/2. Taken at 20 yards How do you top that in a hunting career.
  4. What is hilarious is that you don't know the difference between a gun and a caliber
  5. How on earth can you know that? Do you understand the simple difference between ballistics and accuracy?
  6. That ballistic information does NOT equate to accuracy at any range. Put both guns in a vice and use a remote trigger pull. which ever gun tossed the best group REGARDLESS of the amount of drop IS the most accurate GUN. Having less drop at 400 yards that another caliber with a larger center to center grouping means nothing.
  7. Biz, That is ballistic information and NOT accuracy information.
  8. Hey Elmo. Now in the case cited in the OP where the deer was looking at him there should be even faster reaction times.
  9. Hunting a more mature animial is generally more difficult and challenging. I know somw on here aren't into the tech aspect of modern hunting but I think it is a rush to have a buck you watched pre season and then have an encounter with him during the season. Really a plus if you can actually take them. That has only happened once to me.
  10. I would love to see where one of those were taken in the wild in NY. I have never heard of a 150" 2..5 year old here,.
  11. Yup. get a nice light comfortable pair and one of these. I NEVER get cold hands when using it. I hate bulky gloves. http://www.sears.com/mossy-oak-neoprene-hand-warmer-duck-blind-neoprene/p-SPM6443955903?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1
  12. What "facts" have you seen that list CALIBERS by accuracy?
  13. I would certainly hope it is closed down for all the bird watchers and other public as well.
  14. Ask the taxidermist you are going to use. He may want it to him first. No knock on anyone but some butchers may live up to their title is they are not use to doing bears. The taxidermist knows just how he wants the skin cut for the mount you have decided on. Having a slice in the wrong spot or not enough hide can tie the taxidermists hands. Pick out a taxidermist decide on what type of moint or rug you want then go get one. good luck.
  15. Great round as well. I would suggest checking out the leverevolution rounds from Hornady for it. much better ballistics than the soft point round nosed.
  16. Our lease boarders sate land we sit all day. This hits the morning movement on our lease and covers the guys on the sate land going and coming from lunch. Seems to worj
  17. Welcome back Bubba. Good luck this year and aim small, miss small
  18. Currently I can't raise my right foot to even attempt to climb a ladder right now. Hope it gets better in the next few weeks.
  19. No shooting for me for a while. Not even any hunting. Sciatic nerve. Start PT tomorrow. no idea what happened but I have been down and out.
  20. Four Seasons get to electrically milk the loser........<cue the banjo music>
  21. What is in the old buildings? Why not take advantage of surroundings that the deer is already comfortable with?
  22. Once you decide have a specific talk to them about how they want it cared for and caped. bear is touchy to handle or the result can be hair loss. Good luck.
  23. Where are you drawing the line for the two halves...lol.
