  1. Just busting chops, Belo becasue it came up with your old avatar.
  2. Does any one else find it ironic that the opinion was the OP pic was of a tranny and now Belo's profile pic is up instead? LOL
  3. The different terms were used because the longbowman were a commodity that neede protection. They were highly trained and had years of practice. The corssbowman were more expendable becasue in very short time they could be trained to shoot one. See. you are in an "elite" category...lol
  4. I plan on getting lucky but I am not sure if I can get the old lady out of the house long enough....
  5. Thanks for the wishes. after a work week at camp last week I feel like 88.
  6. My freezer got unplugged once too. I lost everything. First thing I did though was plug it back in a partially refreeze the contents. It stunk much less and was easier to clean up. Very sorry to hear about this Cabin. I am glad to hear you are back to work though.
  7. He is pushing late term and that is not legal in NY
  8. Great video. Mind if I ask what the LCD 30 ran you. I just have the controller that came with my harbor freight panels and they don't provide enough information. Where did you buy your DM solar panel through?
  9. I know of two very large vegtable farmers near me that are very accomodating about permission to hunt their properties. There is about only two things they tell you will get you banned fromthe property. One is destroying crops and the other is shooting a yote. They want them to take as many deer as they can.
  10. I used to used both but with my faster flatter shooting bow I had to adjust my anchor point and found it much easier to use the actual fletching on the arrow at the corner of my mouth. With a Kisser above the knocking point it effectively drops the back of the arrow and that seems to start an initial higher flight path. The bow I had was short in the riser and the the sights were very high on the riser and almost half hidden in the curve back of the riser. Using he fletching raised that and allowed the sights to be fully seen. Just prefference and gave me a better sight picture without the riser limiting the view.
  11. If the does had an early drop of a fawn/fawns and they get them up an moving, the fawns hesitate at the road. I have seen does start to cross and as soon as the fawns hooves hit the asphalt they lock up. It must be a strange feeling the first time. That can leave momma right in the travel path as she waits for the fawns to come across. I also think Doc hit another cause of many too at this time of year.
  12. Nice Pics. Firsdt one I ever sawin NY was in 1981 while hicking the area arounf Giant Mountain. I have seen thinm since at Hemlock and Iroquios wildlife refuge. I think Iroquois actually has nesting boxes out there.
  13. If it is a farm a nice ice braker is first obtaining permission for a little woodchuck hunting. That has a benefit to the farmer and it may open the doors to more seasons once they see how responsible you are.
  14. Not sure about the city but up here you don't need a pistol permit to buy and own a black powder revolver. you cna't have the means to fire it (no powder balls and caps), but a permit and registration is not required. But bottom line is they don't know their a$$ from their elbow.
  15. He may have thought you were talking about a weapon like a black powder revolver. Very disheartening that those being asked to enforce a law don'[t understand it. Part of me really wonders if the confusion is by design.
  16. the $10 fee was set for a background check...right? A transfer fee was not in that #.
  17. no. If they brought it down to 5 we would be doing cart wheels. I think that is where you will see it settle.
  18. if the sides are 42" tall you don't need fencing but he deck has to have a self closing/self latching gate leading to it. (or one of those ladders that go up) My deck is 2 levels. one at about 12" above the ground then from there, stairs up to an upper deck flush with the pool top. I needed a gate and a railing in that scenario the upper deck
  19. I had a 15x26 oval above ground put in 13 years ago. I bult the deck so it spread the entire one side and has the feel of an inground when onthe deck. You WILL need to either have restricted acces to the pool. (fence, non climbing railing or a ladder that latches up). I had Northeastern put it in and while is has held up very well ( original liner and second pump) It was a nightmare to stay on them to get everything right. Not very professional and their attention to detail sucked. I got the 48" side walls becasuse an oval can't be dished out for added depth due to the cross staps under the pool. Since my daughter was very young then and the water was over her head, we opted for the wedding cake style stairs. It gave her a nice place to rest, sit and play.
  20. X2- On the full Metal jacket arrows. Love mine.
  21. This Buck Grossed 138- 5/8 the 157 would need almost 20" more. Not happening from the picture I saw.
  22. Eddie, I just had a problem with my Briggs engine and it started burning a bit of oil and would puke out white smoke and quit. It was the head gasket and was actually pressurizing the oil sump. The fuel pum ran off a pulse vacuum line coming from the sump to the fuel pump. The cylinder action creates a pulse vacuum and no vacuum to push the fuel. when it pressurizes it pushes oil to the fuel pump, is mixed in the gas and ends up in the fuel line and causes the puff of smoke and a stall since it can't combust the rich oil mixture. Deere wanted $300 and 25 days to fix it. I did it myself in about 2 hours the other night and the head gasket cost $9. Follow the fuel line and see if there s a pump that looks like a small hockey pump with 3 hoses coming out of it. It may be dripping oil out of it if this is the problem.
