I do not know how active they are but there is an Upper Hudson Valley branch. Contact them and get involved If they don't have a big presence there, maybe some new blood in the chapter could spice things up. -

Not sure about the Baldwinville area but the Penn yan area has some great deer in it. I know every property is different but down there is is not uncommon to see a 6 or 8 point that is a 1.5 year old. -
Or since the AR areas do not total to a majority of the deer taken in the state, the other areas are doing much better on a voluntary basis.

Multiple shooting in Phoenix office complex

It is all media. No bigger problem than in the past in my view. If you look at 2011 (sonce 2012 isn't out) just the murder count for Firearms was 8,500. That is over 23 a day. The media is just focusing on these now to provide ban support. It also doesn't help tha tthe coverage plays into some of these wackos heads......"Wow look at the attention i can get if" -

Again...another with the atate wide crap? you talk about the benefit of taking a deer or 2 to put in the freezer and then in the next breath want AR's to limit those in areas without doe permits? -

How big were the pools? -
No you are wrong. You won't see it but I am not surprised. the two actions taken are worlds apart. Midway too 5 days to evaluate a new law. Dicks made a corporate decision based on public outcry and sold us down the river. Their major money base is not the shooting sports. Do me a favor. Boycott Midway. Chances are there will be less stuff on backorder then if folks like you that can't grasp the difference don't buty there.

Phade. I have my share of 6's and 8's that I took years ago that fit that same description. some of the hunting styles that we used to do alot (deer drives) make it very difficult to make that split second decision on whether to take it or not. Many times in the stand I can evaluate better or even still hunting but drives add some complexity.

I would love to see some formal confirmation of there anti 2nd stance and if they truely were behind the ESS ban. That would need to be a national compaign to pull any insurance business from them. Flo might even have to find another job.
