I will disagree with you on this point...and strongly. the government has not right to tell me any weapon I can have. any weapon I choose to protect my family. The 2A doen't talk about hunting rifles....It should be our choice...period. Steve...think the world of you...but an armed public can protect itself even from the current military. I look at what the Afgans did to the soviet unioun ....granted with our help in arms. And one thing I think many overlook...our military is not compromised of a bunch of brainless bafoons. I think if the leaders ever tried to bring that force against the American public.....they may get quite a shock. I put a lot of faith in our military people....and i don't mean the ones with all the stars on their shoulders. Do I think the gov't will be coming any time soon to take my arms away...I don't think so...but I don't think we can give them one step in that direction...a train is a lot easier to keep stopped than it is to stop it once it is moving.

I am actually very close to you Jason. I would be more than willing to hit a few shops with you or even just meet and talk over some issues. My buddy and I will start shooting in May or June and we have a target at his house in Henrietta. I would be happy to help you get started. I am not a bow tuner by any stretch but could help a bit on form and such. -

LOL. I paused on the same part of the post---first thing that came to me was---boot int he A$$ and GTF out of the house...Either that or he would be performing maid duties and polishing my car every day -

I think they are all screwed up....It is sad when you walk into the poll and have to consider the lesser of two evils. -
pistol permit changes

huge number of complaints and the County Clerk was against the changing of the old system. GOOD FOR HER!! It was a new judge stepping in. If the new judge is that quick to make a change like that, I can just imagine their view on pistols. -

I agree Geno...I do know that there a some guys that hunt CT on here and it is legal in regions over there. Just saying. -
I have only gone out on questioinabe ice twice....it was in the same trip...the first time...and the last time . I should have known I was in for trouble when the guy showed up to pick me up and had a canoe in his truck. no open water but he uses it as a sled and said it works good if someone goes through. It was one of the most UN relaxing days of my life.

Yes, red squirrel is open all year but you werent being specific. Buy a live trap or two for the greys and take them for rides a few miles away rather than break the law. BTW, I had to edit your language I don't need any of those arson prone squirrels in my heighborhood---keep them by you!! Isn't transport of live wild game illegal too? -

my only word of caution before any of us jump on someone posting a pic that has bait---know where it comes from. There are neighboring states that allow it. -

Maybe NY State should implement this type of program

Not to blow what you have said out of proportion but.....I for one would be more than happy to see the city broken out as a seperate state....I am just fine with our third world country up here. Part of me thinks that it is that attitude that is the main reason for any targeting -

It only lasted a week til they went back to normal. Heard the county clerk on the radio. They were requiring the judge sign off on every voucher before you could go pick up your new gun...that would have been BS and put a nail in the coffin of gun shows here -

rabbits...ducks...squirrels...yotes...grouse...I haven't got one of them with a rack yet..LOL. And I try to fill every doe tag I am given. I would still hunt if not a single buck tag were issued. I have said it before and stick to it....the books are the worst thing that ever happened to this sport. (Well second worst---TV shows are number 1)They were suppose to be to honor the deer from what I have been told....It really is about the 15 seconds of fame for the taker to a lot. -

Should be treated just like OSHA and the money goes back to their budget. I believe it goes to the general fund now...but why not change it....increase the fines and giv ethe general fund the same amount it gets now...the delta to the DEC and programs. I really have no sympathy for the violators. Don't get me wrong...if someone forgets to cut the month on the carcass tag I am not saying take their car....but for poachers...say good bye to the gun...the car you drove it home with ...and the house you hung it up in...enjoy the street. Of course we would end up paying for them then too... -
LOL...understood. That pic looks like Cranberry and Long pond right after ice out for the perch run...

I know....and why 1.65 an inch...why not $1 or $2...kind os like marketing...only $19.99.....not $20...that would be too much...lol DOes anyone know how many ECO's we actaully have on teh payroll and how does it compare to other states? I know it could make a few ticket happy and runamuk but how about an incentatve based pay system with a base pay and a % of convicted fines....real fines. I would just love to see more boots on the ground -

The only downfall with that is....I don't think the phones are as weather resistant as the GPS hand helds
