We are seeing it in construction too. all along the east coast owners are holding on to what cash they have. They are not sure how the things like the health care bill, cap and trade etc. are going to effect them. Couple that with the down economy and most businesses are barely holding their own and definitely are not moving cash. Where we have a problem with a down turn in the economy...the size of the projects we do (2-3 year projects) hold us through the initial downturn. People don't stop 30 million dollar projects once they are building. but on the back end we come out slower than a normal business. (We are down from this time last year over 400 employees). Once a company decised they are going to build the design and permit process take a while and theat slows us down coming out. I also don't get so of this "stimuluis spending" roads, bridges...are you kidding me?. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand those are short term fixes. If you are going to spend the tax payers money at least put it in to jobs that will maintain themselves. (I am in no way in favor of stimulus spending by the way) OK...I am off my soap box...lol

Just wait WNY----the guy someone was looking for that carved his own bow out of a hickory tree with a Bowie knife and walked to Kentucky to get just the right flint to make his own arrow heads,,,,tans his own buckskin clothes and only shoots racks over 200 inches might just have arrived...lol

I love that stuff, Doc. I have come across old foundation corners and such. It does make you sit back and thing what, why and when. I don't know if you ever got into metal detecting but my Brother in law does it and it is just those type of areas he looks for. Old abandoned and forgotten. He does hunt and uses it as little scouting trips. Pretty cool

What purpose would they have other than poaching?. Unless the one was training the other to run coons. Night+guns+out of season....just add flashlight and presto...poaching. If you are gonna shoot them out of season I guess no larger penalty using a light and a lot fewer folks around...mu two cents for what it is worth

Best time to see thm is after leaves come off anf before the snow.....or if you aren't interested in seeing horns.....the spring after the melt. They stick out like a sore thumb

The timber company I lease from requires the tops be left in place to provide a barrier to browsing the new growth off. If they are stipulating it in their contracts it must be a draw. other wise they would let the tops go. Some of the loggers let their guys take the tops for firewood...not with this company because they want the new growth for the next generation of trees

Hey Steve. Just wondering how the wood ages after all these years. I often thought about trying to get one but always woried about defects. Cracks and stress is easy to see on composite limbs. how do you check wood?

In most cases if you are a hunter you will be deemed a redneck republican card carrying NRA member by the other half of the nation. If you don't think that isn't in any way a political statement, you are entitled to your opinion. I will not be a giveaway for any side so that they could figure me out so easily. Hey I resemble that reamrk!

Too bad....I sat down next to the guys and started to do the same thing

Is that what AR really stands for----Artistic Rendering?

LOL. DOc I agree. well said. My wife aways wants me to load my guns in the truck at dark so no one sees we have guns in the house....ummmmmm...NO...I am not leaving my guns in the truck and I want folks to know if they come in there are only two ways to leave....rolled or carried. I won't sulk or scurry around due to others warps views or uncomfortable "feelings"
