https://www.assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?default_fld=%0D%0A&bn=A1413&term=&Summary=Y&Actions=Y&Votes=Y&Memo=Y&Text=Y.. I am sure someone may kick this into the Political section but I wanted everyone to see this. The basis for the act, "Currently in New York State it is legal to raffle off a firearm in a game of chance. Many times games such as these are open to all individuals regardless of age. Firearms should not be raffled off in this manner." , is a load of BS. Any raffle I have seen, been a winner in or put on, required the winner to go through the same process that a person would to BUY the firearms. They are removing the ability to use firearms as prizes in games of chance. Time to reach out to your Reps.

Me. on Sunday? Woke up early and did our taxes. That was a huge mistake to try and stay in a good mood....grrrrrrrrrr. Everything is exactly the same as the prior year and I went from getting a combined refund of $2,600 to owing almost $1,800. Went and helped a buddy put new transmission lines on his truck and fixed my taillight wire on my truck. Back home and showered and went next door with friends to watch the game. BORING!!!! went home after the halftime show since they have little kids. Watched the 3rd quarter and I won the 3rd quarter of our work pool. about 3 plays into the 4th quarter I fell asleep and didn't wake up until this morning. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the Pats scored 10 in the 4th. Yup...that means my 3 and 3 in the pool won the 3rd and final in the pool. now I only need to come up with another $1,525 for Uncle Sam...lol -

So sorry to read this. I saw something like this once before with a friends parent. It ended up that he had had a stroke and no one knew it. It effected his behavior a lot. Basically inhibition and social interactions. hope he come out of this well. -
did I sin?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Honestly no. Because these "steps" are geared towards good law abiding people while these crooked politicians step over themselves to cater to the criminals and illegals. And they won't have any impact on the crime rates. so what is the next logical "step"? Because we all know that any step is worth the loss of a right to save just one life. (unless it is an unborn life that is). SO that next step IS full registration of all firearms and what better way to get a leg up than to have years of information to look back on. The Left is incremental and they have proven this. That is why that gun rights folks are not willing to give an inch. The other side has shown that once you do they will grab for the mile. That is why the SCOTUS was so important and why the left is shitting themselves with RBG on life support. -

Do you have any idea how many guns there are out there that have no documentation concerning who bought them and when? Personally one of those are more valuable than one that is "on the books". That is really why the Safe Act is so BS and a feel good law that only effects the law abiding. If I wanted to sell you a gun we could literally take a ride to the first parking lot over the PA line and make the transaction or we could say that we did. -
7th Annual Banquet
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in Greater Rochester Southern Tier QDMA
At the banquet we will be lucky enough to have two chances to win one of these truly custom scopes. One will be available on our Gun Board and one in the Live Auction. Unfortunately you won't be able to take a scope home with you the night of the banquet because these are custom scopes and must be ordered to meet the specific gun and load you intend to use. The winner of one of these scopes will supply information to Quigley Ford and the reticle will be custom etched per the information you provide. The winner will have the option to change their scope to the QF 520 model with the difference in retail paid directly to Quigley Ford https://quigleyford.com/ The Quigley Difference Quigley-Ford vs. Other Etched Reticle Scopes There are many etched reticle scopes on the market today. Just about every reputable scope company is making one. What sets Quigley-Ford apart from the rest, is that ours are truly custom. Most etched reticle scopes offer different reticles with different range options. Almost all give suggestions for groups of calibers that will work, but none go as far as customizing the reticle to the caliber and the specific load you shoot. Quigley-Ford does. Our scopes are custom to the caliber, grain weight of bullet, muzzle velocity and ballistic coefficient. Our scopes can be etched for the factory load shooter or the hand loader as well. Some etched reticle scopes will have you calculating your bullets trajectory online and then using different hash marks within the reticle for true drop points. This can be very complicated and confusing and often creates too much room for human error. Quigley-Ford has simplified the process by offering the hunter a scope that is etched specifically for his load. -

Oh the tub is pink. You can't cook a pig in a pink tub. lol My buddy actually uses an old clawfoot but I gotta believe any cast iron tub would work.

Favorite Whiskey Thread
Culvercreek hunt club replied to SmokeinTN's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
I only have about a 1/4 bottle left of that. Had it over in Ireland at the distillery. Wonderful Whiskey -
Buddy cooks on in an old cast iron tub every year. You can fit a REALLY big pig on one that size...lol. He welded up a metal plate cover with a lip that hangs over the edge and two handles on each end to lift the cover off and tend the pig. It is really just a big enamel coated pot.

They make a great pig cooker!!! build a cover, set it up on blocks and build a fire under it.

I've said it many times that my NY State concealed carry should act in the same way. If I present it I should be able to purchase immediately. I already jumped through their hoops. -
Or stealing the deal...lol

Watch how ineffective the NY Red Flag law will be because there is no way to know what someone really owns now. The next battle cry in NY will be for registration of all firearms.
