  1. Back in the 60's they had thousands of submissions from the Canadian public while Canada was trying to pick a new flag. I wonder if this was one of those? Looks kind of hand made.
  2. I don't have the energy or desire but I would be willing to bet that the sponsors and co-sponsors of this bill to save these poor defenseless animal's lives were in the group that voted, jumping for joy and cheering a few short weeks ago over the ability in NY to kill a baby just days before it birth
  3. I figured a guy your size could have handled yourself better...lol. "let's stay up all night playing cards and drinking" he says....."then go out fishing all morning" he says" I sure was lonely on the lake by myself.
  4. If we are bringing home made bottles to pass, I'll bring one too.
  5. There are a lot of fishing tournaments that aren't catch and release. These clowns are all nuts.
  6. They keep F#$%ing around and they might see more "use" than they expect
  7. We an carpool or convoy. Pretty easy ride straight down 90
  8. I'd be in if the dates work. With enough notice I can usually arrange to make it work. ...couple drinks, laughs and an excuse the hit the blackjack table.
  9. I gift them to folks I believe could get some benefit out of them.
  10. I lease from Cotton Hanlon and they are a top notch group. One thing Bob didn't mention is these leases are yours to use 365 days a year. Ours has turned into much more than just a hunting destination.
  11. Knob Creek is on my bucket list. Never been there but use to go to one on a smaller scale in Maine every year. WNY is correct. BRING $$$$$$$
  12. If you are just selling raffle tickets I suppose that could work since many I have seen gives a cash prize alternative for each gun. The places that would have an issue is events like the QDMA banquet we put on and many others where the gun is actually there and has been purchased. A game of chance just does not have the same draw when the prize is a picture of the prize.
  13. For that round I would be staying in the 120-140 range. There ins't anything around here, including the targeted pigs that they wouldn't take. IMO, extremes, high or low, whether bullet grains or powder charges are tying to make a caliber do something it isn't best suited for. If I felt I needed to go that heavy, I would be using a 308. I am no old hand at reloading but with any load I have worked up, my firearms seem to always find a sweet spot with moderate bullet grain weights for the caliber and moderate powder charges.
  14. I wasn’t actually referring to our load. I meant the original one he posted.
  15. we have 3. if you have internet it will play Pandora and IHeart Radio. we use the smart plug a lot. we use to have it on the Christmas tree lights and could turn it off with voice commands. We now have it on a light and can turn it on or off from anywhere we are on our phones. Makes my wife feel better when the dog isn't in the dark.
  16. I don't have my book with me but on the Hogdgon website with the 162 grain bullets and Varget the max load is 41.0. That is why i asked if you shot them all. It's only a grain but boy I am not a fan of exceeding max. No pressure signs?

I don't have my manual at work but if what he says it rue then his buddy loaded the low end under the website starting load and the upper end is a grain over the Max load. Now I am a little on the over cautious side of things for reloading but I wouldn't do that and I can't see shootign 162's out of that for about anything around here. I'd probably be sitting with the 130's

Hi Bob, The 120gr Nosler BT is famous for holding up to some very big animals up to moose and not failing.  The 120gr Barnes TTSX is as good or even better!

Any 140gr bullet from Nosler or Barnes would also be perfectly good.

There is absolutely no reason for him to be shooting 162gr bullets for a hog or any bear he might encounter around here, IMO and you stated.

I haven't checked his numbers yet but I'd be VERY cautious of anybody reloading for me and if on the very rare chance I'd load for somebody else there isn't a snowballs chance in hell I'd load even close to a max load.

  18. Mine took a $4,400 downwards swing. Owed a tad more on State but the bulk was due to SALT deduction losses.
  19. You use a "wish knife" for batonning. That is where you have a knife but wish you had an ax.
  20. I think a knife falls under the old saying That if something is designed to do everything, it won't do anything well. (kind of a jack of all trades, master of none thing) Or something like that.
