  1. I think you guys are misunderstanding my verbage. I was starting that the fact is drivers aren't LAZY. If there was something to be said about it is the fact it's not scouting, or food plots, or playing the wind or waiting patiently through a rain storm... It's setup here, walk here. Not as many skills needed to push through some thick stuff as someone trying to arrow a mature buck. If you look through the posts, I'm a pro drive guy, not an anti ! 2. Fork horn and a big ole doe. Unfortunately for me, she was on the field edge on my walk out, about 10min past legal.... Gonna try that corner tomorrow I think ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  3. Lazy....no. "Skilled method" maybe not, but it's effective especially late season when deer are hunkered down. We hunted a farm and strictly drove as the Tennant's used to shoot deer 24/7 and they were nocturnal all season. I will bet you I have punched 20 tags over the years on a simple 200 yard drive. Also have sent 20 to my dad on same drive. Are they my proudest deer ? No. Did I fill the freezer, yes. There's also something to be said when I drive to dad and hear the shot... Kinda like job well done. Plenty of good memories from drives as well. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  4. Back at the spot I got my gun buck.... Wind is awful but the savage works further than the nose. Hopeful to punch a doe tag on one of these fat corn feds. Or 2 Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  5. Im gonna slow roll down the sewer line too ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  6. Where exactly are you located ? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  7. I guarantee there are giants in your area. They know where to hide.... You don't know where that is.... I have a hard time believing there are NO mature bucks in your area, and I'm certain that the big guys can give the slip to more hunters than you can imagine. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  8. I hate to admit this on a public forum, but I used to hang a sewit feeder in my tower stand ( roofed with knee walls ) back at my old house. Used to love having the chickadees and such come visit while i hunted. I'd have to chuckle at he encon if I was to get ticketed for that.... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  9. Decided to head out behind the house and do field overwatch. Walked up on two dinks eating....set my stuff down and took a knee in hopes momma would come out.... Turns out she was bedded 10 yards to my right in the golden rod, along with 4 other friends. Got the flag salute as I watched all 7 bound back into the thickets. Decided to see if I could cut them off and hit my stand that I haven't hunted in a few years. Finally made it through the shctuff and got in. NADA. Stand is still there, but without a cut trail it is a pain in the grundle to get back there. Gonna do a couple evening hunts this week as I'm looking to fill some doe tags! 10. This is a tough one. I'd have dad sit down with owners and just "talk" about it. Maybe mention that there should be solid communication on the when's and where's to prevent any dangerous situations. The only downside is that he is now married in, so if an issue arises you and your dad will prob get the boot before he does. I don't know man, good luck and I hope it works out ! 11. Fortunately and unfortunately I'm only asking for fishing stuff this Christmas. Got one heck of list too... Fish hawk, new sonar, couple leadcore setups etc etc. My wife loves that everything I asked for was at or above the 1k mark. Then we decided to not give each other anything and focus on the kids as my list is rediculous. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  12. A perfect opportunity to sight in your gun... Head out back and setup a target ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  13. Or keep going till your gun glows blue..... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  14. Beaut !! Love the mass!! Them big boys love to travel... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  15. Happens all the time. Unless your at a high fence, there's no way to control these wild beasts. One hot doe can have your hitlist bucks in the next town. The buck I got with gun was on cams over a mile away.... Focus on learning from this, and push yourself to practice more so your margin of error is less, that way when you have an opportunity you can increase your odds. Chin up, you still have time and with a dominant buck gone and potential for a 2nd esterous you may score something even bigger (maybe the big one your neighbor has on cam) Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  16. Good intel ^^^ maybe just get one of each!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  17. I'd guess at 2.5 but there's potential for 3.5. The only REAL way is to see the teeth. Kinda like guessing weight without a scale.....too soon ? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  18. Handsome dog. Def looks around the 40# area. Cool fluffy coat too. Nice job !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  19. I think I'd just rather encourage those that want to know weight, to purchase a scale..... Right ? Honestly, I think I have an extra scale just like one in pic.... If your local to buffalo I'd gladly give it to you ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  20. 116# dressed weight with 137# of usable meatSent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  21. Well, there's multiple records for heaviest dressed weight that are spread out all over the state, prob one or two in every county, by hunters without scales. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  22. I'm in. Btw, this buck actually weighed 278.6lbs. I used hammerabes code to figure it out. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  23. Ahhhh the tail end of season, when we all get a bit cranky.... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  25. Hmm. I've never seen 100# of usable meat come off any deer I have ever butchered. I'm not gonna blast you, or get all worked up about your "guess" as to what things weigh. Unless you throw in fat and bones and maybe a couple legs, your way off. Now, the only reason I say this is because I use an accurate scale to weigh the dressed deer. I also have a very precise scale used to measure the cuts as they come off. To me, you really can't put a number on weight without a scale. I'd say use terms like "alot" or "a ton" instead of using the pa game commissions measuring scale. Besides, your shooting NY deer so that scale won't work. Just sayin Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
