What's the coolest thing you found in the woods?
TreeGuy replied to helmut in the bush's topic in General Chit Chat
Found this the other day, amazing how this is even possible but the tree is long gone but a couple feet of bark still stand... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk -
Almost hit a set on the ride home since the snow let up... Decided to just call it. Glad I did cause the snow came right back. Beer. Hmm. Yep, we should do that! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Yea, the heat will come.... Wait for it.... I've left a bunch. If they have the mange or a rough coat, they stay. I think I've shot more with mange than without. Also left one I shot with the bow, tracked it about 80 yards and didn't want to go into the bedding area during peak rut. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

I was thinking we could just crank it up and sit in the barn.... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Last good night hunt was 9-2am. We could have hunted at 3-4 more spots and only hit 3. Thats about average for the late nights. I've done a few till 3-4am. Work and kids has me ready for bed at 9pm so 3-4am isn't really in the cards anymore. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

No fur spotted. We had some complications. Snow was coming down and there was a bird in distress that wouldn't shut up...lol. I hope we can get back out there soon ! Thanks SF again for sharing your dirt !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

FoxPro and the foxjack decoy on top. I was just telling sodfather I can't even remember how many fox have knocked over the call or attacked the decoy. Awesome sight to see. I recommend shooting before that happens though.... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

It was an accuracy thing for me, primarily. When it comes to semi autos that will be used for preds, those that are reliable, accurate and take abuse of the in and out of the truck, through the snow etc there are very few that can compete. The AR is also very simple to break down, completely. I am all about the super clean at least once a year, so it no sweat doing the AR. Also, customizing is simple. About 90% off mods that can be done a gunsmith is not needed. That's for aesthetics and for accuracy. A sweet trigger can be 160-300$ and dial down you groups immediatly. I qualified with an M16A2 and went 10/10 @500 yards with a peep sight, prone. With a hunters backround, I knew I would have to own one at some point in my life and was beyond impressed. I'll never hunt deer with it, I'll never grab it if there's an intruder in the house, I'll never take it on a long walk, but it's a sweet piece to have in the gun cabinet. I think anyone with hesitation as to why others love them just need to get behind one and send a few rounds down range... You will see Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

I'm juiced for tonight. Hoping this snow let's up... Great spot..tracks...perfect field setup... Yep. We are gonna see something ! And I have to admit, taking Moog taught me a few things, first was how to miss (something I was unfamiliar with) and also to do an inventory prior to departure. I can't afford to make those mistakes again, literally. Lol. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

And not that I know what I'm talking about, or want to tell you what to do in the least bit.... But could you cut a "bump" of the base of an antler and make the eye ? I feel like they have shading too which would add to the effect ? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

4-5 hours..... U are talented. U need a table at the local gun and sportsman's shows. U may not be concerned with $$$ but I bet people would pay you well for your time. Amazing Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Lurking.... Obviously I've given my opinion on the matter. The one thing I never mentioned was the pain of the load/unload at every set can be minimised by a speed loader. Also, when unloading, it's pretty fast to rack the action back and forth and can prob be done in 6 seconds to clear the rifle. As far as the style of "pinning" DD's does do epoxy over an Allen head bolt. Basically means if you have a mag failure it CAN be taken off without damaging the lower in anyway. Most will come with a mil spec mag anyways which very, very, very rarely fail. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
