  1. Headlamp is the way to go on those dark nights/mornings. Keeps your hands free for all the other stuff!
  2. I don't trust the Russians or the Syrians. I'm proud of our exceptionalism in America, it what makes us great! You may not like Obama but I know you love your country. Putin can go to hell, talking down to us on 9/11 he dissed this country on a day of mourning. Like I said the ball is in his court now, what will the play be???????????
  3. Well the ball is in Putin's court now. If he and the Syrians don't deliver game over.
  4. A friend is over there right now attending the NOLS school of survival. Looks wonderful can't wait to talk to him about his experience.
  5. Every once in a while I take 6th ave instead of 7th ave to get to work. Get it?????
  6. Thought some guys from Jersey came by and poached him! lol Nice buck.
  7. Glad you got it up, today is going to be 90 degrees......yuk.
  8. I often see people shooting in their backyards. You really don't know what could happen. 1 freak shot that skips off the target and goes flying into another backyard. I know most guys are safe but sorry won't cut it if something horrible happens.
  9. Sweet target! Neighbors don't mind you shooting in the backyard?
  10. Could be anything. Yes there is a good size chunk missing there.
  11. He didn't say anything about hunting. Its survival school so I would think you would hunt. We won't have contact with him until he is at the airport ready to come home.
  12. As some of you know I have a kid who I mentored bow hunting from 14-16. He has taken a few deer on my property and now is one of the guys at camp. Zach graduated high school this year and wanted to get into the Navy. They are holding off enlisting him for another year. He dislocated his shoulder 2 years ago, this is holding him back. In the meantime he has to hone his skills. He is off to New Zealand today and will be back in December. He is attending the NOLS school (see the link) sounds great and I wish him luck. I have the last weekend booked for him at muzzleloader season! http://www.nols.edu
  13. Maybe 10 years ago at bow season. It was an afternoon hunt around 4:00, overcast 38 degrees no wind. In my favorite stand at my BIL house. Behind me was some dense cover and I heard deer walking. I stood up and my back was to them. I turn my head to see a doe be tended by a massive buck. He was not grunting but making this long clicking noise. I heard about this noise and it is when the buck is locked n on the doe and a bulldozer couldn't separate the two. Now I have this massive wood limb Browning bow that I'm holding. It starts to get heavy as she is working her way down towards me. She is now 10 yards broadside but the buck is thrashing a small pine tree30 yards off no shot. She catches movement of my bow that sends her bounding 20 yards and stops. The buck charges towards her and offers me a perfect 25 yard shot. The arrow sails right under his chest. I was so excited that I dropped the bow on the shot. He was a stockey 3.5 8 point. We found his sheds that winter, what a deer. They hang on the front of my cabin...........
  14. My Niece makes her own and its great beer! Good luck and drink sensibly!
  15. Just an update. Since going over and talking with them it seems they are doing a much better job keeping the dogs inside when they are gone. I also think the dog is getting used to me and my dog. Things are much better, thank DOG,
  16. FYI-Taxes went down for us in Howard this year. Thanks to the wind farm, about 100 bucks for me.
  17. Nice video. I always thought a yearling was a deer born the same year as hunting season. 6-7 month old deer. He calls a 1.5 year old a yearling, I could be wrong??
  18. Welcome, what part of southern France do you come from? lol
  19. Love that extra brow tine on that deer. Very nice!
  20. Hi John welcome. I used to have a place in Roscoe, loved the Catskills!
