  1. Second picture-Wooly's footprint. He gets around barefoot while taking those great pictures! I don't have a clue on the top one, too far away. Never saw a print like the bottom pict? ??? Maybe bear, mother and cub?
  2. imagine how popular it would be if we discussed shooting spikes with a crossbow....not wearing orange....and being 12 years old 1 minute before sunrise!
  3. Good therapy session, same time next week.
  4. If your looking for a doe this is great. I used it early season a few times and had doe running up to my stand. They are on full alert so you better be ready!
  5. Wooly, This time of year they are in the seeking phase. You will find them where you least expect it. The kitchen is a great place to start. Hang a couple of tree stands off the legs of your kitchen table. Take out your best G.I.Joe and give him his orders. He is allowed to shoot anything that walks by, no AR's and unlimited tags! Baiting is legal, candy corn works great. Good luck buddy, say hello to the guy with "life like hair!"
  6. Guys, Thanks a lot! I think I may be going the utility trailer rout. Culver that is pretty nice from harbor freight, that just might get ordered! Thanks again!
  7. Oh boy-here we go again!!!!!!!!
  8. Welcome, that deer from up north-Canada? He is awesome!
  9. Way to go, yes hanging out after the hunt in the spring time, or any time, is great!
  10. I have the buck roar and the can. If you practice enough you can do most calls on your own. I have called in most deer just doing a soft doe bawl. Can't remember if I ever scared any off, don't think so, half the time they aren't interested. Sometimes calling deer works real well and they come on a string!
  11. Let's take the bacon and figure out how to covert the grease to fuel. I'm sure someone on this site can figure it out!
  12. I have seen birds still in the roost at 9:30 a.m. Not once but three times.
  13. Guys, I want to have it to move stone, wood and give my kids a ride. Have looked online at Northern tool, Lowes, Sears, Tractor supply and a local place in Canisteo (payne's). They run from 200-800$. Any thoughts or suggestions? Would love to get one for about 350$
  14. It's just a matter of time I see one while walking my property with my Daughters. I make it a point to carry the spray, we have two cell phones and there is a plan in place. We talk about the plan before every walk. Two years ago we hit the hard woods that had been logged years prior. There were a lot of stumps in the area and you could tell the bears were tearing them apart looking for insects. It was a bit unnerving with my kids in tow so we got out of there quickly. The kids picked up real quick on my uneasiness.
  15. Burt , you only carry 2 arrows ? Yup, if I miss the first shot I use the remaining arrow on myself!!!
  16. Two years ago on opening day we had a mother and two cubs hanging around our tree stands. I got within 30 yards of the cubs. The mother just kept on eating corn. She would look up every now and then. It was getting dark and they were in our path back to the cabin. All the yelling in the world did not move them, in fact the cubs became more curious. It took two shots in the air to move them along. When I walk my property off season I carry bear spray, you never know.
  17. It's nice to see the bears in your area but after a while they start to become a problem. For me they just don't eat the fruit of my trees they break the tree apart till there is nothing left! This goes for some real nice pine trees also. They either use them as back scratches or eat the sap. Someone told me they will let the sap run and come back to eat the insects!
  18. Nice Pat. I have to get a new camera this year. Nothing like seeing what's hanging around the property!
  19. $4.21 on L.I still. Oil is climbing back up so I don't see any relief! In some of the towns on the North shore where you are at a distance from the main drag the price is as high as 4.69/gallon!
