But don't you believe back then was the beginning of big Hunting shows that had product to sell. Wether it be videos or food plot seed it all came into play. Buckmasters, the video series bowhunting October Whitetails, Bill Jordan outdoors, Realtree. It all changed hunting forever. Big business for sure and hunters bought into it.

Yeah I get that. I let nothing get in the way of the hunting season when younger. We can only hope it continues with them. My camp it will for sure.

Hey I got my first with the Muzzleloader today!!!! We did 4 different drives. First three did not produce any deer. Last drive was on my property. I was a driver and started to walk in from the road. About 30 yards in I see a big doe cross in front of me about 50 yards. She knows something is up and trots a few yards and stops. Shot was right through the neck. She was done in minutes. A matter of inches and a miss. I have to put a scope on that gun for next year. Maybe it deflected, don't know. I'm very happy! Right after I shot two more crossed my swail. Buddies Flintlock misfired, would of been nice he had his 12 year old with him. Kid was great never complained once! She's a biggen!

This morning we have 5 guys to do several drives. 2 old timers (1 is me lol) and three 30 year old's. But the old guys do most of the driving! Really would like to get one more for the freezer. I'll report back mid day!

I don't know, the kids we have at my camp and my neighbors are as excited as I was the night before opening day. In fact they get a charge out of prepping shooting lanes and tending to food plots. The kids around us are super busy with school and sports. We have to carve out time to get them to camp. Throw in a travel sport team and it's really hard. When you do get them to camp hunting is all they think about!

I'll go out this afternoon. I'll hunt the corn lickers!

Picked up my dogs at the Boarding Kennel. It was around 4:00. Very nice area south of 17 in Avoca. Groups of Does in the fields feeding. Each group was 6 or more. Mostly yearlings with a few larger ones mixed in.

Merry Christmas my friends!

We have a lot of wind and rain on L.I. I closed down the house in Howard when I left on Wednesday. Other than the power going out I should be ok. Good luck all.

I have a logging road from the top of my property that runs right past two of my ladder stands. I have often thought of using a blower to clear the leaves off the road. I've seen videos of people doing this. Then again I had a great bow season seeing big bucks and I walked that crunchy road all the time. lol

So I went in deep to my stand that borders a big bedding area. Found a lot of tracks a few from big deer. Unfortunately I didn't see anything. It was a nice two hours standing there no wind, snow on the ground waiting for one to show up. Beautiful afternoon, it's why I do it!

I'm headed out in a few. Haven't seen a deer on my property in three weeks. I just don't know where to go. I'll let you know how it goes! lol

I'm getting the feeling that there is way too much food left out there for them. Just a few times we caught them in the fields before dark. I don't know?

Stand hunting after a snowfall : risky or no big deal?
First-light replied to Northcountryman's topic in Deer Hunting
Don't risk it. I fell this year without any snow. I was very lucky not to get hurt. Pick a good spot and Whack one! -
It was a bust! My setup but not one deer showed for pictures!

Got a wsw wind. I'm sitting my ass on the east side of my corn field. Tons of tracks in there. Wish me luck!!

Wow never thought about this. Doing it right now. Thanks -
I had installed a Lopi Endeavor stove in the family room. I want to move some of the hot air from there to the kitchen. I bought a fan its on the desk but doesn't work well. Any suggestions? Both rooms are cathedral ceilings.
