  1. Adjuster comes today at 9. Told him he has me for 15 min then I have to work. He said he may be here for hours? Do they actually go through all the charred rubble? 1 could be dangerous and 2 he going to get filthy.
  2. Agree Doc. Fire Marshal told me two things, 1-call us first then try to fight it but don't get hurt. I lost 10 minutes not calling them right away. 2-He said my house was minutes away from totally going up in flames. Board and Batten siding was a blessing. He said vinyl siding would of lit up like fireworks. That shed was too close to my house, another thing to think about when building. It's hitting me today but I'll be ok and move on. Thank you all.
  3. That is great and you won't get it back if you didn't go! Good for you and the kids notice these things!
  4. Thank you all. Insurance adjuster coming this week. Will figure it out!
  5. Thank you all. Waiting for insurance to call. Need to fix house first then clean up the area and decide what to do. lost fishing gear, tree stands, decoys, endless tools, trail mower, rototiller, buckets of screw, nails, Two antique two man saws. Much more.
  6. Call insurance tomorrow. There was just so much in there you can't replace. Right down to some Penn fishing reels that were my Father inlaws. They were classics. You are right nobody got hurt. Thanks
  7. Had a small burn tonight in the fire pit. Wind was perfect to take an ember over to my empty log storage next to shed. The result is losing my shed and so many things inside of it. The house caught fire as the Howard Fire Dept was pulling up. They saved my house! Freemont and Avoca was there also. Thank you all for the commitment put into keeping us safe!
  8. I'm quoting myself. Just an update the job at Lowes lasted about 2 months. Managers and coworkers were fantastic. Schedule was not! Part time can be between 18-39 hrs a week. Schedule changes week to week. You might out in 8 hrs starting at 5 am or go in at 2pm and work until 11. The lumber department was also too physical for me at my age. They offered to move me to another department but I declined. Talk about AI, a computer makes the schedule thats why it changes all the time. Not a great thing in my mind. I took a job at the Bath Central school district. I'll work at the elementary school cafeteria maintaining the dinning room. 3 3/4 hrs a day 9:45-1:30. Still get in afternoon hunts!!!!
  9. Is an auction the best way or can you just buy from an breeder egg company?
  10. Ok so I'm full of questions! Are any of the birds for meat? I raised ducks and loved the eggs but never butchered them. Is butchering in the plans or just eggs?
  11. OMG I have to do this. I did have ducks and chickens as a kid on Long Island. My Mom grew up on a farm in Connecticut so it was in her blood!
  12. I'm actually doing a 50 mile Ruck the month of May for SSS. Stop Soldier Suicide. I asked my young cadet how to Ruck and she told me the following. Minimal poundage in backpack is 24lbs. This does not include rifle and water. Her and roommate did 39. March real hard on the inclines and jog down the hills. Take any advantage to jog to increase better time. Plenty of power bars and water. She just eats up this stuff. I love to jog and exercise. I got her into it at a real young age and she embraced it. The coaches at her high school called her old school Teddi because after practice she would do more laps or other training when teammates went home. Best thing it grew on the younger kids, they looked up to her and started doing the same, a few but it was nice.
  13. Pretty cool. I used my older dog once to track a deer. He was very methodical and I was impressed. Very enjoyable experience.
  14. Best way to make them? Are they that fat cause of egg sacks?
  15. I love it just what they deserve!
  16. Cool story, some tough running there. They took one look at you and said no way! lol
  17. Love Striper fishing! Nice catch.
  18. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1729447350837965 Norwegian Foot March Last night, cadets tested their endurance marching and running 18.6 grueling miles while carrying (AT LEAST) a 25-pound rucksack. In order to complete the march successfully, the course must be completed in under 4.5 hours. This allows U.S. soldiers an opportunity to earn a foreign armed forces badge. Teddi and her roommate did it in 3 hrs 52 mins. 39 lbs ruck sack also!
  19. Never even thought about it, Thanks
  20. Definitely want to try this. Can I do it later in the summer or is it just a spring hatching season? If I'll shoot for next year.
  21. Enjoy the day Folks. I'm headed to West point for dinner with family. Hudson House in Cold Spring.
  22. Been finishing the upstairs last couple of months. Here are some recent picts.
