  1. You do not want to put out scent too early. Think about it if I'm not ready to breed leave me alone so when they smell it they Are out!
  2. Saw two Doe and fawns tonight. Thought it would come together for me when I heard grunting. It was a small spike. I'm taking a break and will pick up Teddi at WP then head to her Mom's house for Thanksgiving. Be back at it Sunday!
  3. These guys are the real deal. No shit they have hunters from 14 to 90 at camp. Been around a long time. Family is from Maryland. Has property here in NY then they go to PA opener at another property and finish it off back home in Maryland. I'm blessed to have them as neighbors. They are a second family to me. You should see the racks from the 90's in this camp.
  4. And it happens again! Good buddy right across from my property shot this 12 pt this morning! Spectacular deer. I can see him in his stand from my house. One year I drove golf balls at him! lol So happy for him. BTW I never saw this buck during bow season.
  5. Been slow on my property. I saw a fawn yesterday that's it. Neighbor behind us shot 2 8pts a smaller buck and this giant. 23 inch inside spread.
  6. I'm parked next to the fire. Will go out but maybe in an hour.
  7. We went out. In the stand by 6. By 7 I was covered in snow and lasted another 2 hours. You guys made the right choice!
  8. Ok you guys are real close but I was the closest! She comes in at 143 lbs!
  9. Yeah I may be a reach at 139 but we shall see. Having breakfast and the I'll weigh her. Closest to actual weight gets a tenderloin! lol
  10. Some picts of the Doe. Put your 2 cents in on weight. He says 153 I say 139.
  11. My brother shot a doe with the crossbow last night. The doe is huge going to weigh it in a bit. Maybe every bit or 150 lbs or so.
  12. I'm getting ready to hunt. Body feels fine even my shoulder is ok. I won't forget this and I hope you guys don't either. Thanks for all the well wishes.
  13. One of the most important things to remeber on a ladder. Thank you!
  14. I really wish we could just forget about the other website and every one move on. No big deal if you are on both just don't poach members or talk shit about each site.
  15. Hello my old friend. A thought well taken. I have plenty of spots for ground blinds. Thank you!
  16. Me too! And I'm just up here 3 months full time. Don't need to be laid up in the hospital!
  17. Well after 45 years of hunting the thing we fear when hunting tree stands happened to me. Slippery conditions this morning with the snow and ice. I hunted until 9:30 and started to come down my ladder stand. It is a 20' model. About half way down my foot slipped I had one hand on the rail and that let go. I was on my way down to the ground. It took a second but felt like I had enough time to think OMG it's happening to me this is going to hurt. I fell backwards but turned and hit the ground in a horizontal position. My right arm and shoulder hit the hardest then my neck snapped and my head hit the ground. I lay there saying I think I'm ok. I got up slowly thinking something is going to hurt real bad but I was ok. My shoulder is sore my head fine. My Angels came through thank you. Please be careful and take your time. I have been in and out of tree stands so many times and never thought it would be me.
  18. I go from seeing 8 bucks yesterday morning to nothing today. These deer are sure tricky!
  19. Should be another good morning especially with snow on the way. Good luck all.
  20. Good info. So above the spine there is probably 4 inches of thick backstrap? Now this was a big old boy. Yes broadhead in him. No blood trail at all nothing. Be interesting if someone shoots him. Alkl my neighbors know about it and the broad head in him.
  21. After sitting in my stand a few times reliving the shot I think it was just below spine above lungs. It only went in 7' and hit the other shoulder. I think he is chasing right now. I hope to see him again!
