10 point-Biggest bow buck I've ever got!!!
oneidacountyhunter replied to dwallace's topic in Bow Hunting
Nice deer and Great story. -
I bought a pair of 2000 gram thinsulate boots that were rated for -30F. My feet got cold when it was 20deg above! I guess the numbers don't really count. Just remember what are parents told us about living in upstate NY. Dress in layers.

Just wondering about how many hunters tell their harvest story and at the end say "it was just a spike" or " it was just a 6 point" "it only weighed 100lbs" ...... and so on. I don't know about you but it sounds like you're disapointed about your kill. Me personaly I don't eat the antlers, I shoot deer for their meat ( big racks are just bragging points If you felt as though the trigger should be pulled then be proud about your harvest! OK I'll get off my soapbox now LOL

Doing the right thing or the correct thing?
oneidacountyhunter replied to BRMee's topic in General Chit Chat
I think if it were me I wouldn't have offered to use my own tag. It's like hitting a deer with your truck. DEC should have isssued you a tag and been done with it. Lesson learned for next time. Feel bad for the kids kinda though because they had to drag someone else's deer out and then have it taken away. Welcome to the forum -

Leverage Speed Ladder treestand
oneidacountyhunter replied to Deerthug's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Seems to be alittle too involved to be a "portable" ladder stand. I used to have a Tree Lounge climber and it was the most comfortable stand I have ever sat in. The only reason I got rid of it is because I lease 800 acres with a group that allows stands to be left all year. Would recommend the Tree Lounge!! Alittle heavy but worth it. -
VIDEO: Deer Heart Blown Up And Blood Is Everywhere!
oneidacountyhunter replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in Deer Hunting
I really enjoy your video's, (self filmed no less) but I wonder how many doe do you kill a year??? No bucks. Like I said though great video's keep em coming!! -
Congrats on finding the deer! What do you mean it may not be the biggest, that thing is a monster in my book. I think people watch too many hunting shows, lol. Did you ever call deer search? Just wondering if there was any kind of charges for future reference

excellent shot placement. Congrats -
Congrats great buck and especially for your first. I had an chance at a 6 point basket rack recently for my first bow kill but it didn't pan out

Guess they can't read posted signs.

I have a friend that confronted some trespassers and told them that their trailcam's send an email immediatly to their phone ( a lie) and if they are caught they will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Haven't had any problems since! -
6K northern tier and 7M southern tier
-
Should have passed on him, imagine what he would look like next year! LOL J/K Congrats
-
OUCH, that's an early end to the season
-
Nothing wrong with that deer. Great story to go along with it also. 6 points taste just as good as 12 and 14 points. Any deer shot and recovered is a trophy in my book!

liver from a deer that sat overnight?
oneidacountyhunter replied to arrow nocker's topic in General Chit Chat
I love venison but just can't bring myself to eating heart and liver. My 12 year old ate the heart of a deer I shot last year and said it wsas real good. I just can't do it, lol -
LMAO at Doc ( learn to shoot with both arms wrapped around a tree ). That's about how I feel. I hunt out of 12'-16' ladder stands with my HSS and that is enough for me!

great video. What an ending it would have been to hear BANG and see a hunter walk up to it
