  1. for that price you should be able to buy one. Are you butchering for other people too? I just use a stand up freezer. Good luck with your build and post pics!
  2. Looking foward to this season. Still in hopes a of great season due to the mild winter. My trail cam hasn't picked up a single deer yet Not too worried though I know where they are.
  3. I shoot Muzzy Mx4's. Since I have never killed a deer with my bow (yet) I have don't have any fighting evidence. I have been looking at the NAP bloodrunner and like the looks of them as well. I think I will let my Muzzys fly first though until I have problems
  4. I just acquired a 16 gauge double barrel side-by-side shotgun. I would like to give duck/goose hunting a shot (no pun intended). Is this a good caliber or should I stick to skeet and small game with it?
  5. I have a Delta 3-D buck that has the vitals colored. Also a Block that will need replacing soon. My bag target got ruined and need a new one. I like to set up as many as I can at different distances and angles. The Delta is can be difficult to pull arrows out sometimes but I have never had too much issue.
  6. I hunt out of Ladder stands now but I loved my Tree Lounge when I had it. Too heavy though. I also only went up 15 feet or so. Those trees get skinny fast the higher you go.
  7. I have a Parker Ultralite 31 and I LOVE it. I got mine used and Haven't had any issues. Mine is set at 29in draw length and 62lb draw weight. I shoot 5060 carbon arrows with muzzy MX4 broadheads. Haven't taken a deer yet but it shoots fast, quiet and flat. Hope this helps and isn't too late. Good Luck
  8. Both of my bows I bought used. Starter was a PSE that I loved but was big, bulky and loud. Then I traded my Tree Lounge for a Parker Ultralight 31. Very fast and quiet. I'm sure Matthews makes a great bow but I just can't justify $1000 for a bare bow.
  9. Will this green come off? What is ATL? Great pics
  10. sure would, I hunt for meat not Racks. Racks are just bragging rights. You can't bite into a steak and tell the difference of buck or doe
  11. Huh, that's something you don't see everyday in the woods. Interesting on the bait cam. Never heard of that
  12. Will never understand how someone can mistake a man for a deer. Sometimes you wonder if it's just not a coverup for murder
  13. Didn't see any thing the last day of bow..... However saw 6 doe Saturday (opening day of Southern tier Gun). Couldn't get a shot at them though. I had to skip out at noon for my daughter's birthday and went back to camp Sunday in the afternoon. While hanging around the truck overlooking my buddies 7 point he shot that morning we saw 4 Doe come out in the field. So of course I went and grabbed the rifle and was able to stock back to the back barn and found a nice shooting rest. This doe stepped out into the open woodline and gave me a 200 yard shot in the opening. Notice the kill shot! She dropped in her tracks and now I have a freezer full of fresh Venison and some Jerky marinading. Now my Turkey Day dinner will be Turkey and Venison!!!!!
  14. I have found a couple of topics that are "locked" when I am on my phone. It won't let me reply to them. Not sure what this means.
  15. Story of my life. I live in the northern tier and wake up to 8 inches of snow! Just pulled into my hunting camp (southern tier) and there is barely a trace. Oh well, one more bow hunt then get the noise makers out tomorrow morning. Good luck everyone!!
  16. LOL, My first deer was a 80lb doe (muzzleloader) that my wife's uncle came up to me and said "I saw that deer yesterday and let it walk" my response to that was "yeah, well I saw this deer today and pulled the trigger!" Just Sayin
  17. well even if these two aren't the thiefs.... they still knew it was posted property and the camera was there just by them "attempting" to hide their faces
  18. Woke up to about 6-8 inches of snow at my house this morning (11-18-2011) should make for some great hunting and hopefully easy tracking tomorrow for opening day of southern tier gun
  19. Very true guys, I know that when I shoot a 100 pound doe my hunting buddies break my chops about the size of the deer but when you get them alone they are all smiles and congrats all around. While I'm sure everyone wants the "monster" I am happy with filling my tags and putting food on my table. Of course I am still looking for that "wall hanger"
  20. Love my Savage 30-06, but can't go wrong with my Savage .270 either. Plus there's always the trusty S&W .357 on my hip!
  21. I rock Tasco's! under $100 and a descent scope. Thinking of upgrading myself since my Tasco's like to fog up on me (never when I was drawing down on a deer thank God)
  22. all set to go, hopefully after a kill on opening day I'll be cocked that night bring on the celebration beers!
